Where to get a great burger on Ibiza

From meat-lovers to vegans - we all love a burger.

Few things suppress a growling appetite as satisifyingly as a succulent burger. So whilst Ibiza might be an island known for its traditional Mediterranean cuisine and fusion styles, there's still room reserved for the humble (and the not so humble) burger.

There's just something that panders to our primal urge about a slab of something delicious sandwiched in a bun, accompanied with extra toppings.

Without further ado, here are our top picks to get a great burger whilst on Ibiza.

The Booo

The Booo claims to have revolutionised the hamburger. On taste evidence, we can't disagree. Absolution comes in the form of the "Cheesus" or if divinity doesn't get you, try the one with red hot chilli. One bonus is that during the height of summer The Booo is open until 04:00, making it the perfect place for those with late night munchies. Delivery is also available - highly convenient.

The Factory

San Rafael

The Factory is an American-style smokehouse, so expect lashings of smokey barbeque sauce and a variety of carnivorous goodies flame-grilled to perfection. Steak, Tex-Mex and ribs are all on offer too, but top of your list should be its fully-loaded burgers. Packing 200g of prime Angus beef and crispy strips of bacon, go all in with the towering Super Factory Burger. Colossal.

Relish Ibiza

Whilst it's not the biggest selection of burgers you'll find on the island, that's not the point: the burgers you get at Relish Ibiza are made with the utmost amount of love and skill and leave you properly satisfied. All come beautifully presented, from the thick beef ‘Relish' house burger with cheese and bacon to the veggie one made with chickpeas, spices and fresh coriander in a beetroot-infused and coloured bun. All are served with gorgeous thick hand-made chips that make them a definite winner in the burger stakes.

Sant Jordi

Anywhere that gets the seal of approval from superstar DJs is okay by us. Vinyl is the go-to place for a bit of DJ spotting outside of the clubs. That aside, we suggest you check out its signature Vinyl burger: beef and marinated cabbage topped with salad. As for the stylistics, the menus are mini vinyl records as you may have guessed. With a selection of craft beers also available, there are plenty of reasons to visit.

Fresh Ibiza

San Antonio

With the warm sea breeze on your face and the suggestion of salt on your tongue, Fresh Ibiza is a great spot to enjoy a sumptuous burger. Given the location, we reckon a fitting choice is the Fresh Lobster Burger - its a top spin on surf 'n' turf. Grilled lobster, beef patty and salad garnish, finished with garlic butter. Why not coincide your visit with a dreamy sunset, a combo made in heaven?

IBIZA Surf Lounge

San Antonio

Despite its reputation as a fun destination, you will find wellness and healthy lifestyle in abundance on the island. But that doesn't mean the fun has to stop. Take Surf Lounge Ibiza as an example. With star attraction, wave simulator the Flowrider and adjoining beachfront gym The Box, you can work up a sweat before replacing those burned calories. Vegans or anyone with a lust for superfoods should be directed towards its stacked 'Cloud 9 Quinoa' burger.

Steak N Shake

Playa d'en Bossa

C'mon, we've all been there - hungover and trawling Playa d'en Bossa looking for somewhere to refuel. So often the place that provides the remedy is Steak 'n Shake. After all, the chain has been in operation since 1934. Whether sober or otherwise, we like to get our teeth around its Jalapeño Crunch. That pepperjack cheese is a dream.

Brooklyn Burger Ibiza

Ibiza Town

Exported all the way from the US east coast - Brooklyn Burger is less a place, more an attitude. If there's one thing the New York borough is famed for, it's being a melting pot of gastronomy from around the world. Ibiza Town's namesake burger joint is therefore christened accordingly. Taste the American dream with its Americano with 220g of beef and smoked bacon. Mouth watering.

Ibiza Rocks Bar

San Antonio

Located directly on the promenade on S'Arenal beach, Ibiza Rocks Bar is the ideal spot to watch the world roll by. It's also a great vantage point to watch the sunset depending on the time of year. Offering a range of mouthwatering burgers, our pick is the classic cheeseburger - but swapping the cheddar out for a slab of veiny blue. Add a side condiment of rich blue cheese sauce to dunk your fries, and you've reached calcium heaven.

So that's your island burger low-down and if you are hungry for variety, check out our restaurant guide and fulfill all your food dreams.
