Now that Tony Blair has become interested in the state of our road system it seems to have spurred our local politicians to get something done.

They have requested that central government in Madrid finance improvements to not only the Ibiza - San Antonio road, known as the 'disco road' amongst other things, but also the airport road, the Santa Eulalia road, and the San Jose road. It is hoped that a study will show that the main roads need to have extra carriageways, illumination, and a central reservation and will become more like motorways.

Rough estimates envisage that the cost involved will be €340 million!
