The beautiful and charming village of San Mateo (Sant Mateu d'Albarca in Catalan) celebrates its festivities in the weeks around 21 September, the day of its Patron Saint.
Among the events commemorating the apostle, the big day includes a popular procession that starts from the church and walks around the village, followed by traditional dances and other activities and concerts.
Highlights of this year's programme include:
- Sunday 06 September - 11:00 Children's foam party at the 'Centro Polivalente' (multipurpose centre)
- Saturday 12 September - 22:00 The Wonderful 80's party at the 'Centro Polivalente' (multipurpose centre)
- Saturday 19 September - 21:30 Live music performed by 'Esta me la sé' at the 'Centro Polivalente' (multipurpose centre)
- Monday 21 September - From 14:00 Big day of San Mateo with mass, traditional dances, and musical performance.
- Sunday 27 September - From 9:00. San Mateo Popular Race
