The beautiful and charming village of San Mateo (Sant Mateu d'Albarca in Catalan) celebrates its festivities on 21 September, the day of its Patron Saint. Among the events commemorating the apostle, the big day includes a popular procession that starts from the church and walks around the village, followed by traditional dances and other activities such as tastings of typical products and concerts.
Highlights of this year's programme include:
- Sunday 11 September - Children's foam party at 11:00 h.
- Saturday 17 September - Great Flower Power party enlivened by DJ Javi Box at 22:00 h.
- Sunday 18 September - Board games and magic show at 21:30 h.
- Wednesday 21 September - Big day of San Mateo with mass, traditional dances, tasting of typical products and dinner with musical performance. All from 19:00 h.
- Saturday 24 September - Big 'Guateque party' with DJ Pilot at 20:00 h.
- Sunday 25 September - Sant Mateu Popular Race, from 9:30h.
