Ibiza town, the capital of the island, hosts its annual fiestas with a diverse programme that combines music, tradition, modernity, sports, parties, entertainment, and activities for all ages, in addition to its traditional and spectacular firework display.
The main celebrations are Saturday 5 of August, the day of the Virgin Mary, honouring Nuestra Señora de las Nieves (Our Lady of the Snows) and Tuesday 8 of August, San Ciriaco, the patron saint of Ibiza town.
The highlight always is the big firework display in the port of Ibiza Town at midnight on 8 August - holidaymakers come in busses to see the spectacle, and many island residents also come to town.
