Every day from 2 August 2025 until 15 August 2025, from 12:00
Where: Ibiza Town (Eivissa)
The Festes de la Terra (Festivals of the Land) are one of Ibiza's most important traditional celebrations, held every August. These festivities honour two key events:
- The patron saint of Ibiza Town, Saint Mary (Santa Maria) – celebrated on August 5th.
- The Catalan conquest of Ibiza – commemorated on August 8th, marking the date when Catalan troops led by Guillem de Montgrí reclaimed the island from Moorish rule in 1235.
This year Festes de la Terra begin on Saturday 2 August, 2025 along the pedestrianised Passeig de Vara de Rey in Ibiza Town with a local craft fair, a parade of traditional carts, and ball pagès (traditional folk dancing) performed by the Colla de Vila. In the evening, a Queen tribute concert in Parque Reina Sofía will mark the musical start of the celebrations.
Some highlights:
- Sunday 3 August 22:00, the Ciutat d’Eivissa Symphonic Band will offer its annual concert featuring local and classical pieces.
- Monday 4 August will be dedicated to families, with the show Atlantis, blending circus, theatre and music.
- Tuesday 5 August, the main day of the festivities, there will be a solemn mass, children’s activities, and from 22:30, live performances by Endèmics and Ressonadors in Parque Reina Sofía - one of the most eagerly anticipated concerts on the programme.
- Wednesday 6 August brings the Corsairs' Festival, paying tribute to the brave corsairs who defended the island from pirate attacks.
- Thursday 7 August, local artist Vinnie Dollar will perform in the park’s square.
- Friday 8 August, the day of the traditional berenada (a popular and traditional afternoon picnic typically held outdoors), which includes free paella for over 800 people and 450 kilos of watermelon, along with lantern-making workshops (fanalets) and live music. That same night, Xanguito will take the stage at Parque Reina Sofía, followed by fireworks to celebrate Sant Ciriac.
- Saturday 9 August, Pacha’s Flower Power Festival will bring music and a hippie spirit to Vara de Rey.
- Sunday 10 August, flamenco and copla (a traditional Spanish song form combining music and poetry) will bring the final musical touch with performances by Esther Esteban and Verónica San Juan, followed by a concert by the Cor Ciutat d’Eivissa.
- Friday 15 August, a fireworks display at Ses Figueretes beach will mark the official close of Festes de la Terra 2025.
Throughout the week, there will be workshops, sports activities, concerts and performances by local artists such as Los del Varadero and Vinnie Dollar, in a tribute to the island’s culture and talent.
