Top 5: Fashion Trends for Ibiza & Summer 2011

1. PRINT

This summer stripes, animal print and geometric patterns will be coming head to head with the ever popular summer floral prints to become the print of the season! With stripes representing the relaxed tomboy look, floral prints dressing the cute girl next door and animal prints letting you release your wild side, which look will become this season's princess of prints?

Stripes look great paired with denim, so try combining an oversized tee and frayed hem denim shorts for a simple and easy look whilst keeping you bang on trend for summer 2011!

Floral prints have always been the ‘in' thing from ditsy to big bloom this season anything goes! Clash patterns to make a statement and the more vibrant the colours the better. Vivienne Westwood Red Label at London Fashion Week featured various floral prints, combining ditsy prints with knitwear and dresses smothered with large vibrant flowers complimented by a pair of this seasons heeled clogs you can't go wrong!

Animal print, similarly to last year, is as trendy as ever. From leopard print to zebra adding a wild side to your wardrobe will keep you at the top of the fashion chain!

Geometric - This season bold, bright and loud patterns are at the forefront of what's hot! Digital and geometric prints are hugely popular with designers as there is endless variety and choice when designing a look made up of these visually captivating patterns. So if you want to make a statement and stand out in the crowd, the more colour the better!

2. THE MAXI

Of course you can expect the maxi to be one of summer's most popular trends and like last year most styles will look good. However 2011 is set to be the sexiest year yet introducing the Sheer maxi, so throw away your half-slips and let us see those pins! Bringing the bohemian look to a sexier level with intentionally see through maxi dresses summer 2011 doesn't stop there. Metallic maxi dresses are going to be the hottest eveningwear for those summer nights. Not only does the Maxi make you appear taller, more elegant and feminine but they always comfortably fit into your day and evening wardrobes.

3. EMBELLISHMENT

Tassels - With designers like Louis Vuitton and Roberto Cavalli adding tassels to their designs on the spring and summer 2011 catwalks this form of embellishment will definitely be popular this summer. Whether it's simply accessorising an outfit with tassel trim sandals or proving you're a big enough fashionista to sport a tassel dress. Simple or extravagant this trend is set to be a scorcher this season!

Feathers come in all manner of colours and sizes and the Spring/summer 2011 catwalks introduced old school glamour to already gorgeous looks by using feathers to accentuate dresses, skirts and cropped jackets. With feathers coming in a vast amount of colours, shapes and sizes each look is unique and as well as creating vibrant looks, subtle and feminine designs will be readily available this summer.

4. SEVENTIES

We've had the 50's and the 60's coming back into fashion in recent years and now the long awaited 70's revival has hit the high street! With Marc Jacobs igniting the 70's craze this trend really allows you to go wild and experiment with patterns, accessories and colours. With wide leg trousers being at the forth front of the trend, there are some great options of plain, simple, yet sophisticated designs or you could try a more overt and colourful hippy inspired patterns. The ever-popular summer playsuit and jumpsuit will also fit well into this hot new trend.

Accessories to match - The 70's look can be complimented with a headscarf, straw hat or a statement hairpiece.

5. ROMANTIC

Summer 2011 may seem like the most colourful and garish season to date but summer wouldn't be the summer without a dash of romance.

White - Every girl loves to appear innocent from time to time so simple white dresses, whether they have an empire line or a soft pleat are a must this season as anything that maximises femininity can't be bad!

Lace - If you want to go for a more chic and dainty look the ever-elegant lace is back with a vengeance and brings the romance of summer alive. Whether it's simply a crochet waistcoat added to an already summery outfit or a full-blown dress lavished with lace, anything goes. Tip: Combine sheer with lace to make your romantic look that little bit sexier

Ballerina - Keeping the girly theme alive the Ballet Trend has been widely featured on the spring and summer catwalks and designers from Chanel to Lanvin have featured this look among their ranges. From long pleated skirts, chiffon dresses, ballet pumps and bodies this trend embraces our youthful and romantic side.
