Last year, across one weekend, you could have easily thought yourself transported back to the 60's, in San Antonio Bay. Vespa and Lambretta scooters abounded and vinyl music could be heard playing, not to mention the dress style that so many sported.

The occasion was Modified Ibiza, a weekend event which saw fans of the era and music arriving from across the UK, mainland Spain, Eire and even Italy. The gathering was such a success that it's happening again, 17th-19th May.

Set up by two self-confessed ‘likely lads' from the UK and long-time residents of Ibiza, who just happened to also own and love their Vespas and Lambrettas respectively, Scott and Steve are the masterminds behind the event. Steve spends some of his time travelling Europe DJ'ing with his vinyl's and Scott runs Scooters Bar (famed for their weekend Fish and Chips), one of the venues for the forthcoming weekender.

With four top DJ's of the genre arriving from the UK and Spain, the weekend celebrations are can be found both at Scooters bar and Hotel Playa Bella. Head into Hotel Playa Bella to listen to Motown, Northern and Ska (all on vinyl) and enjoy two live bands or pop 50 metres down the street to Scooters Bar, to hang out and enjoy the ambience of the occasion with other fans of Northern Soul music and the like.

Modified Ibiza is a chilled welcoming crowd and if you haven't got a clue what it's all about they don't mind – happy to welcome all and everyone along to find out. All events are free of charge.
