Ibiza Weekends: San Antonio Cultural

Thanks to 3 separate departments of San Antonio council weekends in Ibiza's second city

Thanks to 3 separate departments of San Antonio council weekends in Ibiza's second city will be full of activities for both tourists and locals alike. The Tourism, Commerce and Culture offices have collaborated to produce ' Sant Antoni Cultural' an entertaining mix of live music, markets and dance which starts this weekend for 13 weeks until October.

Young Chris Langley of Eivissa Music Arts has put together the live music part of the programme which will feature local bands playing live in various parts of town every Saturday and is a continuation of last year's 'Solpostos Musicals' series of concerts.
The first four dates which have been confirmed are
July 9, D Brois (Rock) in the fountains square
July 16, Stone Corners (Pop) at the Punta des Moli windmill
July 23, Ses Genetes Peludes (Folk) in the fountains square
July 30, Gerard Guse Trio (Jazz) in the Church square

Every Friday from 19.00 until 24.00 O'clock there will be a local arts and crafts fare held near the Office of Tourism in the fountains square of San Antonio and there will be live music performances on the second and fourth Fridays of the month. This starts tonight (July 8) when Irish folk rockers The Moonshine Band take to the stage from 21.00 until 23.00 with only the occasional Guinness break to keep them going.

The first Friday of the month will feature the 'Fira des Barrugets,' the mythical woodland spirits of Ibiza, and the third Friday will be 'art day' featuring artists at work.
