Unless you've been having a complete digital detox, you'll no doubt know that Wednesday 12 August is a very special date for parts of Europe, including Ibiza. That's because of the total solar lunar eclipse - the first astronomical event of its kind since the summer of 1999.
Many of Ibiza's outdoor daytime parties are throwing special editions to coincide with this awe-inspiring natural phenomenon - and now a boat party is too!
Veteran seafaring party enthusiasts behind the successful Pukka Up brand have announced a special sailing called ECLIPSE: The Day The Sun Sets Twice.
Many of the details stay the same as Pukka Up's regular thrice-weekly sailings.
Check-in opens between 16:00 and 17:00 at Rio Ibiza in San Antonio's harbour, which includes a free pre-party. Departure is at 18:00 and lasts for three hours for the duration of sunset. Welcome drink included upon boarding.
The differences? Aside from the eclipse itself, the route will see the boat head southbound along the west-coast towards the mystical rock formation of Es Vedrà.
Once there, it will have arguably the most sought after vantage point of any event taking place on this day. For once, we will very much be encouraging phone use.
The eclipse will start soon after 19:30, reaching its peak approximately an hour later, darkening the sky for just over a full minute. Sunset itself takes place at 20:57 CET on this date. It really will feel like the sun is setting twice.
Regular boat parties offer some of the most carefree, liberating party experiences available anywhere on Ibiza, but this special event really has once-in-a-lifetime qualities.
