Two of dance music’s most prolific figures have finally made it official. Solomun and Skrillex have dropped their first-ever studio collaboration. After months of teasing the track in front of packed club and festival crowds around the globe, Rumpta is out today, Friday 3 July.
It's little coincidence the release comes two days before Skrillex is scheduled to perform alongside Solomun at Pacha Ibiza.
If you've caught either DJ recently, chances are you'll recognise it instantly. It’s that one that's a perfect blend of both artists, bridging House and the more melodic side of Techno.
Released via Solomon's Dynamic imprint, the track drawers in its listeners with its vocal, inspired by House classics of old, albeit with a modern, high-energy groove and built for peak-time dancefloors.
Rumpta has been popping up in Solomun's sets since his Tulum late, including his sold out Alexandra Palace shows in London and EDC Las Vegas. Even as long ago as Tomorrowland 2025, it became one of the most talked-about IDs from the festival.
The release lands just days before the pair reunite behind the decks at Solomun's legendary +1 residency on Sunday 5 July. No doubt we'll be having it off to Rumpta whilst there.
Skrillex returns as a special guest following last year's epic back-to-back. The chemistry between the two initially raised eyebrows given their contrasting styles. In the time since, we've not only become accustomed to this odd-couple, but embraced the unlikely alliance.
Now, they solidify their partnership with this killer collab. Here's hoping for more aural alchemy at Pacha this weekend.
