Sonny Fodera's island ascension continues with day party at Destino Five Ibiza
This week, a pretty unexpected announcement landed in the form of a very special one-off show at Destino Five Ibiza. Pacha's Monday night resident Sonny Fodera joins Pacha ICONS.
Off the back of Sonny’s huge opening party on 11 May (pictured above), he's only gone and dropped another bombshell before the dust has even settled.
The chart-topping producer has just just hit an all-time high in the Ibiza stock market as he confirms a daytime slot for Saturday 1 August, coinciding with the madness of the annual BBC Radio 1 Ibiza weekend. It's when the island is at its hottest, busiest and most wild.
Until now, Destino Five has refused to stray from its tried-and-tested formula. Big underground names, stripped-back House and Tech House, with a crowd that leans more music-first than mainstream. That is about to change.
The Pacha ICONS programme is dominated by Marco Carola and Solomun, so Sonny being thrown into the mix shows how highly regarded he is amongst Pacha Group's top brass. Let’s face it, Sonny's music is a great fit for daytime partying.

His residency has ended up becoming one of Pacha’s biggest success stories, boasting a packed dancefloor and some of the best energy on the island from his devoted fanbase. He proved he could balance accessibility with credibility. No easy feat.
It's also one of those rare parties where the number of women on the dancefloor outnumber the men.
