Ibiza-based Familia Marí Mayans has strengthened its international ambitions after a successful appearance at Anuga Japan 2026. The fifth-generation company reported strong interest in its Hierbas Ibicencas from both industry professionals and visitors, highlighting growing potential in the Japanese and wider Asian markets.
Presented within the Spain Pavilion, the product drew consistent attention, with its distinctive, evocative aroma garnering many positive comments. The brand’s flagship liqueur, produced in Ibiza using recipes dating back to 1880, was awarded Best Geographical Indication Spirit at the 2025 Alimentos de España Awards.
According to the company, it is particularly well suited to local drinking habits. Hierbas Ibicencas was well received both in its traditional form and in concoctions, including with soda, lemonade, and as part of mixed drinks incorporating local teas and spirits.
The Tokyo showcase also enabled the brand to establish new commercial contacts, supporting ongoing expansion plans across international markets. Familia Marí Mayans already exports to countries including Germany, Italy, Belgium and the United States, with Japan emerging as a key focus.
During the visit, company representatives also assessed the product’s presence on the ground, noting it could be found in leisure venues and higher-end bars and restaurants, particularly in trendy areas such as Shibuya. Additional growth potential was identified in nearby regions including Yokohama and Shonan.
With this latest step, Familia Marí Mayans continues to expand its global reach, positioning one of Ibiza’s most recognisable traditional products within new markets.
