Every generation experiences those ‘had to be there’ pop culture moments, from the moon landing to the dawn of the internet, and artificial intelligence turning from a science-fiction trope into reality.
Dare I say, on Monday night, the world of clubbing witnessed its own moment of history in the making, as Swedish visionary Eric Prydz launched his most ambitious show concept yet. Holosphere 2.0 launched at the island's newest club [UNVRS].
Having missed out on Friday night's full Opening Party, I had the best of intentions to dodge any TikTok spoilers over the weekend. However, the sheer virality of the [UNVRS] made this a near impossible task.
With high expectations, we dialled our coordinates for [UNVRS] prepared to enter the Holosphere 2.0, the club's first official residency opening.

Walking up the path, I felt a sense of nostalgia from hazy nights spent at venue predecessor, Privilege. A feeling that soon became overshadowed by the butterflies and anticipation for what was to come. Would the hype really be all that?
VIP wristbands secured, Rachael and I were now two girls on a mission to cover all corners of the huge club complex before us.
Stepping into the main room for the first time is like entering a spacecraft hangar. The scale is mind-blowing. Tiered balcony levels max out the space above with aerial views. However, even on ground zero, staring down the shuttle of the dancefloor, somehow the DJ is still in plain sight.
Support act Rivo was in motion at this point, casting an entrancement of pulsating electronica and fun vocal edits. Of course, a crowd-pleasing spin of his breakout Disclosure remix You & Me made a standout moment towards the end of his set. Pure euphoria.
Suddenly, my senses spiked, and I couldn't help but notice a rolling bassline coming from the right-hand corner and had to investigate immediately. Target locked: We had just uncovered the Wild Comet. [UNVRS]'s answer to the famous toilet rave.
Deep in a flow state, Bender had the room positively bouncing to his nomadic House beats and wise selection of classic dance bangers like Benny Benassi's Satisfaction.
Back in the main room, the countdown was now on with Eric Prydz due to arrive any minute. Despite the crush of spectators, we scored a perfect unobstructed view of the DJ booth. Result.
The minutes of silent suspense feel like an eternity until, all of a sudden, a dramatic cinematic drone filled the void, smoke cast over the crowd and the enormous LED sphere illuminated into action with one of Eric Prydz’ most famous hologram visuals, very fittingly, a running astronaut.

Encapsulated within the dome itself was Eric Prydz, who wasted no time in cultivating a hypnosis of Progressive House beats, exclusively from his own almighty catalogue.
To Pryda’s Armed, he made full use of [UNVRS]’s strobing lasers to beam down onto the mass of ravers, while the holosphere continued to morph into all kinds of wondrous visions. From spinning planets to a striking green eyeball.
This was an audio-visual escapade like nothing I’d experienced before.

Not too long later, we hit peak party territory. Eric Prydz transitioned a trilogy of his most iconic tracks from 2Night, into Ibiza anthem Pjanoo and finally, Pryda’s Allein.
Hands flew up in the air, clapping to the unmistakable House keys, and phones disappeared back into pockets despite the epic production. We had crossed into another dimension entirely.
Our journey through Prydz’s sonic universe continued up until the final moments, closing with Opus. No soul in the celestial can deny the power of this track. Looking around at the expressions of awe on everyone's faces, we were all in universal agreement.

With time to reflect on Monday night's adventure, Eric Prydz presents Holosphere 2.0 at [UNVRS] is redefining how technology can enhance the clubbing experience and firms itself as a must-attend party on Ibiza this summer.
Above all, I'm pleased to say that no matter the groundbreaking production, at the epicentre of Eric Prydz's vision, remains the music itself. Reminding us once again why he is regarded as one of the scene's top recording artists.
Eric Prydz presents Holosphere 2.0 has now fully launched into Monday nights at [UNVRS].
