O Beach & Bam-Bu-Ku give clubbers the chance to flex their green cred

For the last seven years, the two San Antonio hotspots have organised monthly beach clean-ups.

Every year, O Beach & Bam-Bu-Ku team up with San Antonio Town Hall to recruit volunteers to clean beaches in the popular resort. The formula is simple: show up, help out for an hour, and get free coffee and tickets to O Beach’s ON111 party.

The clean-ups start 25 May and happen every last Sunday of the month until 20 September (World Cleanup Day). Meet at 09:30, grab a bin bag, and help pick up plastic, cigarette butts, and other rubbish from the sand. Afterwards, everyone heads to Bam-Bu-Ku for coffee and a chat.

Since 2018, hundreds of people have joined in – O Beach staff, tourists, locals, and even sports teams they sponsor. Together, they’ve cleared tons of rubbish from the coastline.

“Ibiza is more than a party island. It’s our home—and home to thousands of workers and residents who make each season possible", says Duane Lineker, CEO of O Beach Group. "This initiative was born from our desire to take care of the island and give back a small part of everything it gives us. For O Beach, it's essential to create spaces where fun and responsibility go hand in hand.”

The San Antonio Town Hall helps organise everything, and the STAY OK Team joins in too, bringing volunteers and free T-shirts. Even O Beach’s sponsored football and gymnastics teams pitch in.

O Beach is known for its epic pool parties, and Bam-Bu-Ku is a go-to spot for chilled-out daytime fun. But this project shows another side – proving that avid clubgoers can be eco warriors, too.

First clean-up: 25 May, 09:30. Bring gloves if you’ve got them, and leave with a cleaner beach and free tickets to ON111.
