Once again the beaches of the municipality of Ibiza are to be patrolled by a special force of Mountain biking tourist police!
This scheme was extremely successful last year in reducing the numbers of minor crimes and thefts which occur when large numbers of people are gathered in the same place. The police will be concentrating on the beaches of Talamanca, Figueretes, Playa den Bossa, and the popular paseos and promenades in these areas.
Meanwhile the Red Cross have once again been contracted to provide emergency medical aid on most of the beaches of the island. Last year they treated many hundreds of people with minor cuts and bruises and also saved the lives of several people who would otherwise have drowned.
