This is the only tourist resort on the island. Although in comparison to others you may visit elsewhere, it feels intimate, where you'll see the same faces and easily get to know the locals.
Es Pujols by day
As the main seafront resort of the island, Es Pujols can be a bustling hub for tourists during the summer months. However, it still maintains a village-like feel, where beautiful moments of calm can be found in the selection of lovely eateries and, of course, on the beautiful white sandy beach.
Like the rest of the island, Es Pujols feels very relaxed: the spirit of Formentera pervades even though there is a great range of amenities, including fashion boutiques, restaurants, bars, a nightly hippy market, cafes to watch the world go by and, of course, many hotels and apartments for all budgets.
Thanks to its small size, it's easy to find your way around the town, and access everything it offers. Restaurants can be found all around, with some really good gourmet eating places, many of them on the seafront overlooking the beach and in the streets behind it. Try ChezzGerdi at the end of the wooden beach promenade and have a lovely Mediterranean meal or a cocktail at this truly magical spot.
For shopaholics, the pretty tree-lined avenue that leads up to the beach boasts many fantastic shops just a step away from the sands. Here, you really can shop until you drop, and find a great selection of clothes for day and night, at really reasonable prices.
For adventures, the clear waters of Es Pujols are perfect for all sorts of water sports, while the pretty sands, which are separated slightly by small rocky sections, are the perfect place to laze and relax.
If you should wish to explore further afield, car rental places abound, and parking can be located on the entrance of the resort and on some of the streets.
Es Pujols by night
As the majority of the island's nightspots are found in Es Pujols, expect a buzzing nightlife that starts in the evening and goes on until the hours of early morning.
Much of the action is concentrated behind the beachfront in the little warren of narrow streets, where there are all kinds of bars and restaurants. In these establishments you will see holidaymakers chatting animatedly, enjoying a night-time energy that's mixed with the chilled, laid-back vibe of the island.
