Learn how to mend and give broken household items a second life with ReparaLab, a new circular economy initiative launching this autumn in Ibiza.
Jointly organised by Ibiza & Formentera Preservation and Fundació Deixalles, these practical sessions aim to reduce waste across the islands by providing tools, space, and expert technical guidance to make repairing easier than replacing.
Running on the last Friday of every month through December, each event features two distinct zones:
ReparaLab: Tot (Drop-in Repair Space): Bring along broken everyday items between 17:30 and 19:30 to fix them yourself using provided tools and specialist advice (no booking required).
Themed Workshops: Focused, hands-on learning sessions held from 17:30 to 19:00 (advance booking required via info@ibizapreservation.org):
25 September: Clothing repair & upcycling
30 October: Lamp & lighting repair
27 November: Furniture restoration
18 December: Computer updates & open-source software (hosted by Amics de la Terra)
Whether you want to revive a favourite piece of clothing or fix a broken lamp, head down to Montecristo and discover the joy of sustainable fixing.
