Ibiza Horse Valley

Located close to San Juan, Ibiza Horse Valley offer an unforgettable horse-riding trek through the stunning mountains and forests of northern Ibiza on their team of magnificent Rescue Horses.

Located in a stunning valley forest, Ibiza Horse Valley is an exceptionally special way to see the beautiful, wild north of the island. A charity foundation that rescues mistreated and abandoned horses, its principal and most fundamental aim is to give these previously unfortunate horses a second chance, allowing them to roam naturally and free.

As well as offering the experience of riding the horse in beautiful nature, the aim is for riders to properly get to know the horses and understand how they are cared for. Ibiza Horse Valley is not a riding school or stable.

The rides are comprised of intimate groups with a maximum of 8 riders led by David and Monique, who will introduce you to their magnificent team of rescue horses, taking you on an unforgettable adventure lasting approximately 4 hours.

You will meet in the village of San Juan, from where you will be guided in your vehicle (essential) to Ibiza Horse Valley. As well as riding the horses, you are actively encouraged to get to know the horses, from feeding and tending to the entire drove to spending quality time with the horse you will be riding. After the ride everyone makes their horse comfortable and reunites it with the drove once more. Both David and Monique are on hand at all times to help and guide you.

Whatever level of rider you are, from absolute beginner to advanced rider, just let the people at Ibiza Horse Valley know so they can determine what level of assistance you may need.

This experience is suitable for those aged 14 years upwards, with long trousers and sports shoes a must. Due to weight ratios, the horses can only accommodate up to 80 kilos in weight.

The riding excursion was quite an experience. Monique and her husband were lovely people and we spent a considerable amount of time talking about our riding ability, meeting the horses and deciding which horse would be the most suitable for each person. The horses were extremely well cared for and in very good condition. /There was a wide variety of horses to suit riding abilities of all levels. I had already picked my horse out from looking at the website, Fiona, a beautiful Arab and we got on famously. We set off into the mountains and the views were breathtaking. My daughter's horse unfortunately ended up going lame and had to be taken back to the stables. She was given another horse to ride but it turned out to be too lively for her (was a lively ex racehorse) so we had to walk and trot for the rest of the ride but nevertheless had a lovely time and wonderful experience. We saw a beautiful sunset and when we got back to the stables all the horses were fed and put to bed and we were taken back down to the village to meet the rest of our family. It was truly a wonderful experience which I would definitely recommend and repeat again should we return to Ibiza. Thank you Monique.
