Formentera boat trip Ibiza <-> Espalmador

A day trip to Espalmador, Ibiza's neighbouring desert island with pristine beaches, clear water and no dress code.

You can unleash your inner Robinson Crusoe and spend a day on a desert island, completely uninhabited and with only one ancient building, thanks to Aquabus ferries. All summer there's a daily ferry service from Playa d'en Bossa and Figueretas which transports you not just 45 minutes across the azure sea but also to a land time forgot.

Espalmador, a privately owned island between Ibiza and Formentera remains in a completely natural state, as it was thousands of years ago. Its few visitors are attracted by its peace, tranquillity, soft white sandy beaches and clear, turqouise water.

The Aquabus trip on traditional boats made, restored and maintained by local craftsmen gives you from around five to eight hours on Espalmador, so you'll need to go prepared; pack food and drink, lots of sun cream, towels and other beach paraphernalia, but remember, swimming costumes are optional as lots of naturists hang out there. Better take some more sun block!
