Some hotels impress you with their facilities, others leave a lasting impression thanks to the people behind them. Our day at W Ibiza managed to do both.
Taking a frontline position on the palm-fringed Santa Eulalia promenade, W Ibiza is a five-star luxury hotel that offers its guests a taste of luxury life and invites others to step inside and experience it for the day. It was an offer we were more than happy to oblige.
Arriving just after midday, we were greeted at the hotel's bright, open-plan reception, where we met Marketing Manager Carlos, Guest Relations Manager Alex and the rest of the team, who immediately made us feel welcome. After sharing our relaxation schedule for our time with them, we were led to our plush surroundings for the afternoon ahead.
Our first stop was GLOW, W Ibiza's stunning rooftop terrace, refreshingly inviting infinity pool and GLOW cocktail bar. The 360-degree panoramic sea views immediately commanded attention, stretching across the bay and out towards the Mediterranean beyond. Framed by wooden decking, cabanas and pockets of Mediterranean planting, GLOW has been designed to make the most of its elevated position.

The terrace captures incredible views of Santa Eulària Bay and the glistening Mediterranean below. It's beautifully designed, with the infinity pool drawing your eye towards the horizon, while the bar and restaurant sit slightly set back, ensuring the captivating views remain the focal point.
Reserved for guests aged 16 and over during the day, the space strikes a balance between laid-back luxury and social sophistication.
Waiting for us was a reserved cabana, complete with towels, ice-cold lemon water and enough cushions to settle into for the afternoon. The atmosphere felt refined yet never formal. The gentle sea breeze, relaxed soundtrack of House music and attentive service created an atmosphere that felt polished without becoming pretentious.

After settling in, lunch soon arrived. We opted for the signature W Burger and the Club Sandwich, both served with crunchy fries. The burger, made with Galician beef, was cooked to a perfect medium, as requested, and proved to be the standout dish of the afternoon. Portions were generous without feeling excessive, and everything was delivered directly to our cabana with a friendly and discreet service.
The seasonal fruit platter, packed with melon, pineapple, berries, kiwi, and passion fruit, and a trio of frozen Argentinian alfajores, was the perfect poolside companion and extra refreshment for our afternoon in the summer heat.
One detail we particularly appreciated was the extensive selection of non-alcoholic versions of the signature cocktails. It's a thoughtful addition that many venues still overlook.

After a post-lunch dip in the rooftop pool, alongside a collection of colourful inflatables that added a playful touch to the setting, it was time to experience the second half of what W Ibiza has to offer.
Back downstairs at the WET Deck, the atmosphere shifted slightly. The music was a little more upbeat, the colour palette bolder, and the energy more social. Surrounded by the hotel's distinctive green, yellow and blue accents, the triangular-shaped pool sits at the heart of the property, framed by guest rooms and with direct access to the seafront promenade.
Whichever deck we occupied, the service remained consistently excellent. Whether it was Alex checking in to ensure everything was running smoothly or Nikita making sure our drinks never sat empty for long, every interaction felt genuine rather than rehearsed.
W Ibiza delivers everything you'd expect from a five-star hotel: beautiful pools, excellent food, and enviable sea views. What elevates the experience, however, is the hospitality. From arrival to departure, every member of staff contributed to an atmosphere that felt warm, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming.
Sometimes that's what makes a great pool day memorable.
