While some may prefer to hide out in the secluded Ibiza hills, many holidaymakers cannot resist the temptation of a party (or 20) on their doorstep.

Few places in the world offer more bars, beach clubs, eateries for every taste and super-clubs within a two-mile radius than Playa d'en Bossa. Many of these double or triple up as multiple-purpose venues. On top of that, it boasts the longest stretch of sand on the island, too!

Hardly surprising, then, that Playa d'en Bossa is the main island destination for party-going tourists of all ages. If you are looking for a holiday with round-the-clock action, Playa d'en Bossa caters for just about every possible type of evening out.

In addition to this, it is only five minutes away from the airport, where you will be dragged home kicking and screaming.

Beach clubs and beach bars

Easily one of the most amazing parts of a summer holiday is spending time at the beach. No one can say for sure what it is, but there is something magical about lounging on comfy oversized sunbeds, dancing barefoot on the sand to the best tunes and dining with a sea view, the gentle breeze caressing your hair. Playa d'en Bossa satisfies every whim in this respect.

Lined with great selection of hospitality businesses, Playa d'en Bossa caters to every taste and budget. In the north and middle section of the beach you'll find more moderately prices beach bars and restaurants, with a lively vibe and international crowd and mixed age groups.

There are beach clubs along the whole length of the beach. The most luxurious ones you'll find at the beautiful broad south end. You can just as easily sip on a smoothie as enjoy a full-blown caviar, oysters and champagne meal on your Balinese sunbed. These might come accompanied by chill out music or more full-on beach party vibes, so you can let loose dancing on the sand.

Even if a day in a beach club can get quite expensive, they are the perfect way to spoil yourself while on holiday. You can treat yourself with delicious food served directly to your sunbed, buy goods from the various beach club boutiques, indulge in your favourite style of massage, have a beauty treatment and much, much more.

Bars

On the main road that runs through the whole resort there are endless shops, restaurants and bars.

There are many bars all over the resort, just wander along the main strip and try them out. Music bars attract passing clubbers with large monitors showing the latest videos and have local DJs playing. Some even have small dancefloors where you can try the first moves of the night.

Clubs

In Playa d'en Bossa, you will find several of the island's nightclubs: the world-famous open-air venue Ushuaïa, the elegant Hï Ibiza and the underground haunt Octan, as well as SWAG and the Hard Rock Hotel.

Widely considered Ibiza's number one open-air club, Ushuaïa Ibiza rules daytime clubbing, with parties running from afternoon to 23:00. Besides the luxury hotel and beach club, this open-air club boasts impressive productions that include amazing light shows, scandalous dancers, lots of fireworks and LED screens.

With its spectacular stage the atmosphere replicates that of a festival, as clubbers dance around the spectacular pool of the luxury resort.

Conveniently located across the street, Hï Ibiza is one of the slickest clubs on the island, presenting some of the biggest names in electronic music. In 2022 Hï Ibiza has been awarded the number one club in the world in DJ Mag's annual Top 100 Clubs poll.

With two main rooms, three open-air areas and even a DJ in one of the many restrooms, this ultra-modern super-club presents an entirely different production every night, plus two more unique ones for its opening and closing parties. Special VIP amenities abound here, including private teepee tents and a helter skelter slide down to the garden.

Octan opened in July 2019 on the site of what was previously Sankeys. This smaller club, with a capacity of 1500 people, continues to be an underground music Mecca. Moderately priced, it boasts three party areas and a great roof terrace.

If you are after urban music and something different, the dark and sexy urban music club Swag Ibiza is also at the centre of Playa d'en Bossa. It is a smaller venue with a familiar atmosphere, affordable entry and drink prices.

Adjacent to Ushuaïa, you'll find the world famous luxury hotel Hard Rock Hotel. It further extends the musical offerings on this side of the island with the old school favourite event Children of the 80s on the spectacular open-air stage.

How to get there

Playa d'en Bossa is only five to 10 minutes from Ibiza Town by car. Parking is not a problem at all since Playa d'en Bossa has two large paid public car parks in the centre and free parking is available along the street.

If you feel like some exercise, it's a 40-minute walk from the centre of Ibiza Town, and only 20 minutes by foot from the beach suburb Figueretas.

Playa d'en Bossa has excellent bus connections with Ibiza Town and other major resorts. Regular buses connect Ibiza Town to Playa d'en Bossa before continuing on to the popular beach of Las Salinas.

The disco bus also has Playa d'en Bossa on its route, running every half hour to 45 minutes, and stopping outside the bars and super-clubs. The disco buses blast loud music while chauffeuring you throughout the whole night to all the major clubs like Pacha and Amnesia, as well as to Ibiza Town and San Antonio – a great way to move around the island and to get to know other clubbers.

From the jetty at the far north end of Playa d'en Bossa beach in front of the Bar Albatros, small ferries go to the port area in the centre of Ibiza Town. This is a beautiful ride along the coastline with a stop in the neighbouring resort of Figueretas and great views of the citadel.

Taxis are another option, especially when travelling in a group. Taxi fares are very affordable. In high season, though, it can be difficult to get a taxi, so be prepared to wait a while at the taxi ranks.

A big advantage of Playa d'en Bossa is also that the airport is only 5 km away; it is easily reached in only 10 minutes by bus or taxi.
