There are few places on Ibiza where dinner feels quite as much like an occasion as Bambuddha. Beyond the entrance, bamboo walkways, Balinese-inspired pavilions, carved statues and flickering candlelight lead into a world of dark timber, lush planting and low, atmospheric lighting. It has a theatrical quality, but one that feels integral to Bambuddha rather than simply decorative.
So when the opportunity came to try Miso Hungry, Bambuddha's all-you-can-eat evening every Wednesday during low season, curiosity got the better of us. The idea is simple: for €48 per person, you can order as much as you like from a dedicated menu, with one important proviso: you have to finish what you've ordered before starting another round. Also, drinks and desserts aren't included in the price.
It sounds straightforward enough. In practice, exercising a little restraint is advisable.

To ease us into the feast, we chose to indulge in a few of Bambuddha's famed cocktails and mocktails.

Pace yourself
The temptation is to go straight in and order everything that catches your eye. With soups, salads, dim sum, sides, meat, seafood, curries, noodles, rice and sushi all available, there is plenty to tempt even the most disciplined diner.
That's what makes Miso Hungry rather different from the usual all-you-can-eat offering. This isn't a stripped-back selection designed simply to keep the plates coming. The menu draws heavily on the style of food for which Bambuddha is known, giving diners the chance to explore a broad selection without committing to a full à la carte dinner.
Rather than having to predict exactly how much everyone at the table wants to eat, each round can be kept relatively modest, leaving room to try something else afterwards. With so much on offer, there’s plenty of scope to mix and match and discover a few new favourites along the way.

Spicy Beef Salad

Beef gyozas
The beef gyozas and crispy spring rolls provided an easy introduction, while the crispy truffle dumplings offered something a little more indulgent. The miso aubergine was another worthwhile choice for those looking beyond the meat and seafood dishes.

Curries and wok dishes

Indonesian Laksa
Then come the curries and wok dishes, where the menu takes a deeper, more aromatic turn. The Indonesian Laksa brings warming spice and fragrant coconut notes, while the Thai Green Chicken Curry delivers the familiar combination of creamy richness and fresh chilli heat.
For something a little more substantial, the Chicken Pad Thai offers that satisfying sweet-savoury balance, while the Prawn Wok Fried Aromatic Rice is packed with wok-charred flavour and juicy prawns. If you like your food fiery, the kitchen is happy to turn up the heat, or keep things gentler on request.
From land and sea

Sticky Spare Ribs
There is plenty here for those who prefer their food a little more substantial. Moroccan lamb and sticky spare ribs sit alongside seafood choices including Malaysian scallops and salmon Kyūbu teriyaki, and Thai green chicken curry.
The variety is one of the strongest aspects of the evening. One moment you're working your way through dim sum; the next, there's sushi on the table, followed by curry or a plate of wok-fried rice.
Sushi, naturally

King California Uramaki
Naturally, the sushi selection is particularly tempting for regular Bambuddha fans. The King California Uramaki, made with crab, was joined by New York with salmon and avocado, the vegetarian Flowers & Herbs of Ibiza, and Bamboo, which brought together a mixture of raw fish.
The important thing is not to treat the first round as though it were your last. We were guilty of arriving with eyes considerably bigger than our stomachs, and the €48 price makes it very easy to get carried away.
Save room for dessert
Somehow, despite the fact the meal had sated us, we simply could not resist dessert.

The dessert selection includes Coconut Milk Foam, where creamy coconut, banana, chocolate and Oreo cookie powder come together in a playful mix of textures; Annixian Bing, a mango crème brûlée that brings a bright, fruity sweetness to the table; and Chocolate Lust, an altogether more decadent affair of silky chocolate mousse, crunchy hazelnut, bourbon cream and coffee sponge.

Miso Hungry at Bambuddha is very popular, so be sure to book in advance
