Thursday is one of Ibiza’s strongest nights, with plenty of variety on offer across the board. If we feel spoiled for choice, how do our followers decide where to go? It’s a nice dilemma to have. This week, we’re back at Hï Ibiza.
We’ve returned specifically to see Club Room hostess Miss Monique, who is sharing duties alongside HUGEL's Make The Girls Dance for a second summer.
Tonight’s line-up is typical of the sound that Miss Monique has built her musical identity around.
With recent studio collaborators Agents Of Time and Automatik label founder Henri Bergmann alongside her, the Club Room orbits the Progressive House and Melodic Techno on which Miss Monique has made her name.
The bill dovetails nicely into the season’s 17-week programme.

With future appearances coming up from similarly positioned acts Mathame, Nora En Pure and Rivo, continuity flows from start to finish. An alternative to the more percussive Latin vibes of HUGEL’s Theatre next door, the affectionately dubbed green frequency forwards Hï Ibiza’s preference for attracting dual audiences on any given night.
Hip-swinging, singalong music in one room; pulse-racing, fist-pumping music in the other. Both crowds well catered for with seemingly little crossover.
Back to the action at hand, our support acts set the foundations for what is to come.
Fight Machine from R3HAB, Stylo and fellow Hï Ibiza residents ARTBAT and the soaring vocal of Cassian’s Three Six Zero release A Feeling I Miss are two memorable moments, but Henri Bergmann’s own Ping Pong feels like the night's biggest turning point.
We need to remind ourselves that the night is still in its infancy. Miss Monique’s arrival is pending and the anticipation is clear to see.
In the post-pandemic era, you will struggle to find an artist whose career trajectory matches that of the Ukrainian DJ. The Siona Records boss seemingly gets bigger with each passing month, amassing a devoted fan base that engages, as much as it consumes.
If streaming figures and social media following were not big enough KPIs on their own, then the number of attendees sporting her trademark green hair told its own story.
The response from the dancefloor when Miss Monique materialises in the booth is another telltale sign of her current powers.
Only minutes into her set, she unloads Max Styler and Vintage Culture’s Freaky 1, sending a visible soundwave ripple from the front of the room to the back as a matrix of emerald lasers cut above the writhing crowd.
The reaction puts Miss Monique at ease and a smile creeps across her face, as she raises her arm with a flick of the hand. In the middle of the room, two svelte dancers in luminous green leotards gyrate above the bobbing heads and outstretched arms.
Moments later, Miss Monique follows up with Ghosts - the most recent outing on her own label. Tellingly, the whistles and whoops make it clear this is one that the people know already.
Since the days of Afterlife, Thursdays at Hï Ibiza have sat in the realm of Melodic Techno. That lineage continues with Miss Monique, but she is now cutting her own path, cultivating a fan base entirely her own.
Passionate fandoms are nothing new when it comes to DJing, and yet Miss Monique’s feels a little different. The momentum feels genuine; it feels organic. We are witnessing something special in real-time.

One thing is for sure, if you consider yourself one of the legions, a trip to Hï Ibiza on Thursday night is essential.
Tickets to all remaining dates of Miss Monique's Thursday Club Room takeovers alongside HUGEL presents Make The Girls Dance are on sale now, including this week’s edition with Eli Brown.
