The sound of Hot Creations at Playa Soleil | Part two: hits from the archive

Five tracks to soundtrack Friday afternoons in Playa d'en Bossa.

For anyone who has spent time on an Ibiza dancefloor over the last fifteen years, the sound of Hot Creations needs little introduction.

What started as a passion project between Jamie Jones and Lee Foss in 2010, quickly became one of House music's most influential labels. Its popularity helped define an era of electronic music that moved away from the stripped-back Minimal sound of the late 2000s and brought energy back to the dancefloor.

Along the way, Hot Creations has launched careers, soundtracked countless Ibiza summers and become synonymous with the island itself. Jamie Jones' own rise mirrored that journey.

The sound of Hot Creations at Playa Soleil: hits from the archive

From his breakthrough years as a resident at DC10 and the launch of Paradise in 2013, his musical identity has become inseparable from the White Isle. The records released through Hot Creations have echoed across beach clubs, terraces, villas and sunrise sessions for more than a decade, creating a catalogue full of genuine Ibiza classics.

This summer, that legacy continues at Playa Soleil. Hot Creations returns to the island's shores with a series of parties celebrating the label's distinct sound.

From timeless vocal anthems to underground club weapons and modern Tech House staples, these are the tracks that built the Hot Creations story and continue to soundtrack Ibiza dancefloors.

1. Hot Natured | Benediction | 2012

There are few records in House music history that have achieved the universal status that Benediction has. Released in 2012 on Hot Natured's debut album Different Sides of the Sun, the track became one of Ibiza's defining records.

Built around Ali Love's unforgettable vocal and a timeless groove, Benediction has transcended genres and generations. Whether heard at a beach club, afterparty, festival main stage or sunrise terrace, it remains instantly recognisable and endlessly loved.

The title itself means blessing - a fitting name for what many consider one of the greatest vocal House anthems ever created.

2. Richy Ahmed feat Kevin Knapp | The Drums | 2013

Richy Ahmed's full solo debut for Hot Creations doesn’t hold back. If there is one track that perfectly captures the early Hot Creations sound, it’s The Drums. The track quickly became a favourite amongst DJs worldwide.

Driven by a thick, jacking groove, deep bassline and heavy percussion, Kevin Knapp's charismatic vocal is a simple, but commanding one. More than a decade later, The Drums remains a guaranteed crowd igniter.

3. Patrick Topping | Forget | 2014

When Patrick Topping released Forget in 2014, few could have predicted just how significant the record would become. The infectious Tech House anthem helped catapult the Newcastle-born producer to international stardom.

Initially dismissed as a somewhat 'bait festival' record, over ten years on, the track has proved its staying power. Its irresistible hook and rolling groove continue to resonate with clubbers today. Forget remains a benchmark for contemporary Tech House.

4. wAFF | Ibiza | 2012

Some records capture a feeling. Others capture a place. wAFF's Ibiza manages to do both. Released during the formative years of Jamie Jones' Paradise movement, the track became an ode to the island (and in particular to DC10, we strongly suspect).

With its infectious rhythm yet simple arrangement, Ibiza celebrates the hedonism, idiosyncratic energy and getting wavy on the dancefloor. When it comes to the White Isle, those properties still ring true.

You could argue, it remains one of the purest musical tributes to the island ever released.

5. Denney | Low Frequency | 2015

Denney's Lower Frequency represents another side of the Hot Creations sound. Showcasing the label's ability to balance underground credibility with peak-time impact, the track embodies the groove-led philosophy that has defined the imprint since inception.

Its rolling rhythm and brooding power continue to make it a favourite for anyone seeking a track that packs a punch. Guaranteed to put the beefiest of sound systems to the test.

More than one hundred releases since its started, Hot Creations has evolved from a pioneering underground label into a globally-trusted platform.

This archive classics remind us why Jamie Jones and his label remain at the heart of Ibiza's musical identity - past, present and future. If you want to familiarise yourself with modern classics from the label, please check-out part one.
