In an era of ever-more elaborate culinary concepts, immersive dining experiences and menus designed as much for social media as the table, Las Dos Lunas is a reminder of the enduring appeal of doing the simple things exceptionally well.

Over more than four decades, it has built up a well earned reputation for heartfelt hospitality, honest cooking and elegant ambiance. There is something distinctly Italian about its outlook: an understanding that good food, good company and unhurried evenings are among life's greatest luxuries.
Conveniently located close to Amnesia and Universe (ideal for a pre-night-out supper), the restaurant is easy to find and benefits from ample parking, making it as practical as it is atmospheric.

Stepping through the portal into its walled enclosure feels like entering another world, a cocoon removed from the hectic pace of Ibiza in summer. Hidden among exquisitely maintained gardens, with lovingly sculpted topiary, Las Dos Lunas offers a rare sense of tranquillity.

Tables are generously spaced, original artworks adorn the walls and the eclectic, old-world décor exudes a quiet glamour untouched by passing trends.

The stylish interior.
An eclectic soundtrack drifts through the space, moving from easy-listening 80s favourites to opera arias, flamenco and other genre-spanning tracks, subtly shaping the mood of the evening.

As daylight fades and the courtyard glows beneath pink and purple bougainvillaea, palm trees and softly illuminated lanterns, conversations deepen, time seems to slow and the outside world fades reassuringly into the distance.

Run by the Lucarini family since its founding over 40 years ago, the restaurant remains a true family affair. Our hostess for the evening, the charming Luna (seen here with the chef), saw us to our table, setting the tone for the restaurant’s easy hospitality.
The kitchen places emphasis on locally sourced, seasonal produce supported by its own kitchen garden, which provides fresh vegetables grown by organic methods.

Our aperitifs: a delightfully refreshing Blossom Sour mocktail, made with elderflower, and a Jungle Bird, featuring rum and Campari.

The first starter, a plate of finely sliced Italian mortadella with warm, springy home-baked bread - from the wood-fired oven - and green olives, accompanied by a crisp Mocen Verdejo chosen from the extensive wine list.

The tricolore offered delicate air-dried bresaola with pear, rocket and generous shavings of Parmesan.

The sweet melon with Spanish Bellota ham delivered a classic contrast of cool, juicy sweetness and the rich, savoury depth of finely marbled ham.

From the pasta section, a house classic: ravioli filled with tender veal. It arrived in a warm, fragrant sage butter sauce that melted through each delicate parcel.

The pièce de résistance was the tagliatelle in a rich Ibizan red prawn bisque, showcasing the intense flavour of the island’s prized red prawns.
Desserts continued in the same confident, understated style.

The volcano-shaped tiramisu was smooth and creamy, delivering familiar notes of coffee and cocoa, while the pairing with raspberry meant that the silky panna cotta had a welcome acidic note.

Warm and homely, the apple tarte Tatin featured soft caramelised apples and crisp, buttery pastry served alongside homemade ice cream.
Nothing felt overworked; instead, each dish reflected a quiet assurance.

Two glasses of hierbas Ibicencas brought the evening to a gently satisfying close. Cin cin!

Over the years, the restaurant's roof has been adorned with all sorts of curios, ranging from a Cadillac to a model Friesian cow! The latest occupant is the figure above.
Las Dos Lunas remains one of Ibiza’s most recognisable dining experiences in an ever-changing gastronomic landscape — rooted in family, atmosphere and the simple pleasure of long, unhurried evenings under the stars.
