Tuesday nights are far from quiet on Ibiza.
With competition across the island reaching peak-season intensity, every club has to put in the graft, seduce the masses and battle hard for attention. Arriving at Pacha, it was clear that Vintage Culture's Affairs was pulling a crowd of its own...
Stepping through the entrance into the garden, I was greeted by a sea of people. Small talk filled the air, drinks flowed and anticipation was building for the penultimate chapter in the Brazilian star's limited four-date residency.
Inside, the club had fully embraced the Affairs identity. Red lighting washed across the room, neon branding glowed overhead and every corner of the dancefloor felt occupied. For a Tuesday (and given the night's stiff competition), attendance was impressive.

Making my way towards the front of the booth, Omri. was already in full control. The DJ, producer and label head has built a reputation for blending melodic elements with rolling grooves, and his warm-up struck exactly the right balance.
Deep and Tech House selections kept the floor moving without revealing all of the night's cards too early.
The tagline attached to Affairs reads: "In our Affairs, you are never alone." As somebody attending both solo and sober, that sentiment rang true. Rather than feeling like an observer, I found myself quickly absorbed by what was happening around me.

Talk came naturally, smiles were exchanged between strangers and the collective focus remained firmly on the music. Before long, any thoughts about being there alone had vanished.
Soon after 02:00, Vintage Culture appeared in the booth.
One of the night's standout moments arrived before a single track had changed. Our host embraced Omri., sharing a few words between before spending several minutes hyping each other up. It felt like a genuine interaction, rather than something performative for the crowd, reflecting the mutual respect between two artists who clearly appreciate each other's craft.

That connection translated directly onto the dancefloor.
As Omri. handed over control, the mood shifted up another level. Basslines hit harder, energy increased and Vintage Culture immediately stamped his identity onto the room.
Known for pushing a distinctly South American flavour of House music, he delivered a set full of rhythm and groove. Every transition seemed to pull the audience deeper into the experience, with barely a pause in movement across the room. My step count certainly benefited.
A short break in the garden provided a chance to catch my breath and gauge the atmosphere elsewhere around the club. Inevitably, conversation turned towards the night's highly anticipated back-to-back between Vintage Culture and Franky Rizardo.

Anyone who witnessed the pair playing together during last year's Music On closing celebrations knew what was coming. Expectations were high.
By 03:30, every available square inch on the dancefloor was being hotly contested as fans jostled for prime positions.
Vintage Culture and Franky Rizardo wasted little time settling in. The chemistry between them was evident from the outset, with both DJs feeding off one another's selections and keeping the room fully engaged.
One of the biggest reactions came when Shinjuku by Franky Rizardo dropped.
Later, Todd Terry's rework of Everything But The Girl's Missing produced a similar response, with movement extending from the front row all the way back to the edges of the room. Even inside the booth, nobody seemed capable of standing still.
What makes Affairs particularly effective is its restraint. Production was present without becoming the focal point. Visuals complemented the music rather than competing with it, allowing the DJs, the crowd and the atmosphere to remain at the centre of the experience.
After three weeks, Vintage Culture's vision for the residency feels increasingly clear. This isn't simply a headline DJ playing a series of summer dates. Affairs has developed its own personality, shaped by the artists surrounding him and the music on offer.

For somebody who arrived alone, that message landed perhaps more vividly than I appreciated. Affairs promised that nobody would be alone on its dancefloor. On Tuesday night, it wasn't just empty words. Affairs came good on its promise.
Vintage Culture returns to Pacha Ibiza for a fourth and final edition of Affairs on Tuesday 30 June.
Joining him for the closing party are Mochakk, Volkoder and Doozie for a full Brazilian affair, bringing the residency to a close after four weeks of carefully curated line-ups and dancefloor-focused energy. Tickets can be purchased below or via our party calendar.
