Hï Ibiza hostesses MESTIZA have dropped their latest single. Salam is the forerunner to the duo's second album, Spanish Chica, which lands in less than a month. It comes hot on the heels of their previous track, Que Calor, Que Calor.
Currently on a seemingly unstoppable creative hot streak, MESTIZA have released one of the most requested IDs from their sets of late. True to their modus operandi, Salam is full of Spanish rhythmic energy and sweeping Arabic-inspired melodies.
Hypnotic and uplifting, the single unfolds through rolling percussion and organic rhythms.
Warm drums underpin the track's pulse, while its layered melodies have Middle Eastern tonalities. The result is a dancefloor secret weapon that is cross-cultural in nature, capturing the essence of MESTIZA's flamenco sound.
Salam is out today, Friday 20 March, and is available to stream and download at all reputable online stores. Spanish Chica drops via MESTIZA's own Sacro imprint on Friday, 10 April.
The album arrives at a special time, just weeks before Belah and Pitty embark on their self-named, season-long residency at Hï Ibiza - the first of any in an island super-club to be fronted by an all-woman team of headline residents.
MESTIZA and Indira Paganotto's historic Sunday night residency kicks off on 31 May, running until 4 October. Tickets for all dates are on sale now and can be purchased below.
