Wayne Lineker has officially been called up for Legends Ibiza, adding even more star power to this summer’s flagship event celebrating sport, music and entertainment on the White Isle.
The founder of Ibiza’s iconic O Beach club will join his son, semi-pro padel player Sean Lineker, for four unforgettable days of competition and celebration from 2–5 June 2025.
With events in football, padel and golf – plus VIP parties and exclusive receptions – the action-packed festival will bring together world-renowned sporting icons for an unmissable spectacle in support of the Luis Figo Foundation and Cruz Roja.
Lineker joins a glittering line-up of sporting aristocracy that already includes Luis Figo, Iker Casillas, Michel Salgado, Juan Sebastián Verón and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, with more top-tier names still to be revealed.
Figo is to captain one of the football teams and line up against a soon-to-be-announced rival captain in what is sure to be an absorbing clash.
“The island has been crying out for an event like this,” said Lineker. “Ibiza is the greatest place on earth – and for locals and holiday-goers to be able to experience this incredible line-up is something to savour. I might be 63 now but there’s plenty of life in me yet – you never know, I might even show the ex-pros a thing or two!”
The tournament will be held across a range of well-known Ibiza venues, including the Santa Eulalia football stadium, The Bubble Club, and Golf Ibiza.
