Season preview | Get down with The Martinez Brothers

What to expect on Tuesdays at Hï Ibiza.

One of the most hotly anticipated new parties hitting Ibiza this summer, is The Martinez Brothers' new self-named venture on Tuesdays at Hï Ibiza.

With the 14 June opening party being some months away still, we just couldn't wait that long to get our fix of the Bronx siblings.

Eager to get a taster of what the party is going to look and sound like, we sent our new clubbing reporter Lissy on a fact-finding mission. The covert assignment saw her dispatched to The Martinez Brothers' Cuttin' Headz showcase at Printworks London. Here's what she found...

Until now...

Globally recognised as new school leaders in House music circles, Chris and Stevie Martinez go way back when it comes to Ibiza. Previously synonymous with Monday night escapades at DC10, this year they are raising the bar with their first official, season-length residency.

Commencing 14 June rolling through to 27 September, The Martinez Brothers are set to take over Hï Ibiza's Theatre room each Tuesday for a summer to remember.

It's no secret that these boys know a thing or two about how to throw a party. They're renowned for their enthralling energy and cutting-edge sets.

Before Ibiza 2022 begins, The 'Bros returned to Printworks London, this time under their very own Cuttin' Headz label. With the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Fleur Shore and Sosa taking centre stage before TMB's set, this party set the tone for what's to come later this summer.

A hint at possible guests

The infectious energy of Dennis Ferrer saw Printworks' Press Halls filled to the brim. The veteran's selection of tracks, including his own production The Red Room (Obj Vocal Mix) and Shonky's jaw-dropping remix of Robert Hood's Who Taught You Math were two definite standouts.

Dennis Ferrer was somewhat of a mentor to Chris and Stevie during their formative years, so we'd speculate it's highly likely we'll be seeing him at some point on Tuesdays.

From the old school to the new-gen, Fleur Shore grasped the opportunity to showcase her talents. Her own unreleased track Manizer, out in several weeks, was a big highlight.

While we can't say for sure, these are definitely two names in contention to accompany the New York duo. Speculation would also link other familiar associates. Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones and Louie Vega all spring to mind, as well as faces from the Cuttin' Headz locker.

It's certainly going to be interesting to find out who is involved and when!

What we can bank on: The Martinez Brothers

TMB are known for showcasing music from upcoming producers, and they duly delivered at Printworks. It's part of what makes their sets so exciting and fresh. With a sold-out capacity crowd out in full force, our protagonists threw stacks of unheard material at us.

One track readers should keep an ear out for in particular was Rumba Nera by Lonely - a producer who has the full support of The 'Bros with his catchy tracks. If it can send Printworks into spasm, just imagine the reaction inside The Theatre.

This wasn't the only track to work wonders. The entire set exhibited The Martinez Brother's magnetic power and slick selections.

It must be said that it isn't only the music that creates TMB's allure. Their style, fashion and social media presence is also a big part of their artistic identity. The Theatre goes hand in hand with this image, making it the perfect space to showcase exactly what they're about.

We're confident this lethal combination will attract their global following to Tuesday nights at Hï Ibiza and you should be a part of it too.

At the moment, it's modest in size, but already you can get a feel for how this party is going to sound with our Martinez Brothers Ibiza 2022 playlist.

More tracks to be added once they're officially released and once the residency gets underway.
