Ibiza Spotlight selects: top water sports

Get on the water, get wet, have lots of fun.

Ibiza and Formentera are famous for the beautiful, clear waters that surround the islands.

With some stunning coastline to boast of as well as wild and wonderful marine life, you have a water sports adventure playground right on your doorstep!

Thanks to the Balearic Islands' abundance of sunny days, the sea is warm enough to enjoy a paddle, surf, or adrenaline-fuelled Jet Ski ride any time between June and October (or even May until November if you are brave).

We've got a superb selection of water-based activities for you, so read on below and find the one (or ones) for you.

Another great way to enjoy sea and coast is by chartering a boat for the day - choose from our great pick of top boat charter companies.

Yacht Watersports Ibiza

Santa Eulalia

Daredevils and thrillseekers will love everything about Yacht Watersports Ibiza's exciting day out. Sailing out of the Santa Eulalia sport marina on a modern designer yacht, the team will take you to the most fabulous spots around the island to test out their arsenal of cutting-edge watersport gadgets. From nimble Seabobs to waterjet-powered Flyboards, you can try your hand at almost every aquatic toy imaginable during the 2.5-hour trip. Of course, there are also less adventurous options like Stand-Up Paddleboards. With up to 11 people permitted per group, a fun-packed afternoon for friends and families awaits!

Ibiza Jet Ski

San Antonio

With a choice of 30-, 60- and 90-minute blasts on the waves, you can dip your toe into the Jet Ski waters or get a deep dive. Let Ibiza Jet Ski take you further afield on one of its longer trips to see places like the Islas Margaritas or the magically titled Puertos del Cielo - Heaven's Gate in English. You get taught by multi-lingual professionals and you don't even need a licence. So, what's stopping you? Get exhilarated on this super trip!

Kayak Ibiza

Es Figueral beach

Kayaking is a true adventure and Kayak Ibiza really makes it one. See yourself drifting past coastline and small islets that most people never get to see; stopping by hidden beaches and seeing incredible marine life. That and getting a body workout whilst having fun. There are snorkel and beach stops for refreshments too. Also check out the company's excellent Stand Up Paddle (SUP) trips.

Sup Paradise Ibiza

San Antonio

Over on the west coast is SUP Paradise Ibiza, an outfit which has lots of experience of the Stand Up Paddle board and this gorgeous part of the island. Expect underwater caves, a graceful glide past the incredible beach of Cala Salada and just beautiful coastline on this cool aquatic exploit. Paddle boarding is made much easier with these guys and you even have a welcome cocktail to steady those nerves before you get started.

eFoil Club Ibiza

Ibiza Town and San Antonio

If you have ever dreamed of having a go on Marty McFly's 'hoverboard' from 1980s movie classic Back To The Future, an eFoil ride is as close as it gets! The futuristic 'flying surfboards' are powered by a hydrofoil design that allows the rider to float a few feet over the water. eFoil Club Ibiza offers a variety of hire packages and private lessons, and quick learners could be up in the air after just 30 minutes of training. They have offices both in the Ibiza marina as well as close to San Antonio (Cala de Boux), and can deliver equipment straight to your boat or the nearest beach.  Fly into the sunset for an unforgettable Ibiza moment!

Scuba Ibiza Diving Center

Ibiza Town

Crystal clear waters, shipwrecks, shoals of fish and underwater caves - who wouldn't want to go deep sea diving on the White Isle? Ibiza Town's Scuba Ibiza Diving Center is PADI-5-star certified - the "Gold Standard" in scuba. These guys can train everyone from beginners going up to  diving instructor and all points in between. Submerge yourself and enjoy cool underwater landscapes.

Sup Yoga

Cala Vadella

Cala Vadella's natural harbour makes a terrific spot to take to paddle boarding. SUP Yoga offers a four-hour SUP trip to and around the magical, awe-inspiring rock of Es Vedrà. Then there's a short and sweet sunset tour, which is great if there are a few of of you. Early risers will adore the morning SUP-board yoga class. It's followed by an energising breakfast included in the price. We want to do them all!

If you want to get around the island, renting a car from one of our specially selected local suppliers is your best bet.
