Things to do this month on Ibiza - February 2019

Check out our choice picks for February

Greedy gourmets are going to love this month with a smorgasbord of events that will have you eating your way across the island. What would winter be without a decent party or two as well as some active outdoor pursuits. It's all here this month on Ibiza. Dig in.

fire roasted fun

All month long

If you love anything from the allium family, then you need to try calçots. It's a Catalan winter food tradition that's spread to Ibiza and one worth trying. Think long, thick green and white stalks, fire roasted and served with a spicy sauce the colour of vermillion. See our magazine piece to know where to go.

Blooming nuts

All month long

What's pinkish white by day and gives off a silvery glow in the moonlight? Almond trees in bloom that's what. Ibiza has a long history with the almond tree and when they start flowering, there's an annual pilgrimage to go and see this pretty spectacle. It ends in early March, so make hay.

Great gastronomy

All month long

Great value gourmet food is where it's at in an Ibizan winter with Ibiza Town's Patrimoni Gastonomic three-course meal deals and half price Thursday evenings with Santa Eulalia's Gastrojueves. Tour the island's top eateries and still have money to take home.

The cherriest winter of all

Every Saturday

For those aching to get back on the dance floor, have no fear. Pacha opens its doors once again for the whole of February. Every Saturday you can listen to the sound selections of cherished local DJ talent, including Angel Linde, Sergio Vicedo and Graham Sahara. Head down to Los Sábados for a bona fide Ibizan winter party experience.

Seaborne sights

Every Sunday

Right now is just the time to see Ibiza's stunning coastline by sea. Each Sunday Kayak Ibiza does group tours (by kayak obvs) during the entire low-season. Absolute beginners and pro-paddlers welcome. All equipment is included in the price of €45 (€35 for residents), so all you need do is turn up with shoes you can get wet, water and spare clothes. Adelante!

Supermarket sweep

10 February

A novel race from Lidl store to Lidl store is in the offing for anyone that wants to take part with a long 23 km race and a short 9 km one. There's a nominal entry fee with all money raised going to stray animals on Ibiza plus there's a raft of prizes to spend in the supermarket for the first three winners of each race. Get training now.

Rollin' rollin'

16 February

Dust off those rollerblades and get down for some speed and freestyle roller skating. Yes, it's slaloms and slides with Rollerjocs at Can Coix sports' centre (map) just outside San Antonio, on the road to Santa Inés. Participants and spectators welcome, though if taking part, sign up now.

Follow the rebellion

16 February

Masters of minimal and tech house, Capadi Rebels has been providing heat in these cold months from gallery cum club haunt, B12. Catering to island dwellers and visitors, the winter season events continue. Catch Chad Andrews, Dub Tiger and Jeremey Weeks spinning grooving tunes all night long.

17 February

From midday to early evening , head on over to San Carlos for the Las Dalias Street Food Festival for a lovely Sunday filling your bellies from food trucks, all offering a big variety of comestibles.
