Ibiza's Big Spenders

The enormous importance of tourism to the economy of Ibiza

The enormous importance of tourism to the economy of Ibiza has been underlined by recently released statistics.

The Balearic Centre of Investigation and Tourist Technology has found that tourists spent a whopping €1,720 million last year, a 17.6% increase on 2005. This means that on average, each of Ibiza's tourist visitors spends €94.40 every day – that's €4 more than Menorca and €6 more than Mallorca.

Ibiza doesn't only come out tops in terms of spending money, as the survey showed that holiday makers on the island stay longer than their counterparts in the other Balearics – 11.3 days as opposed to 11.1 in Menorca and 10.9 in Mallorca.
We look forward to seeing all you big spenders for a long time this year
