Two skeletons have been uncovered in the area of the Necropolis of Puig des Molins by the young participants in an archaeological dig. The remains are believed to be of two men aged about 30 and 45 who lived here approximately 1000 years ago in the period of the Arabic occupation. Clues which point to this, are the fact that both men were buried facing toward Mecca and had no personal effects with them, both Muslim customs.

The skeletons have been dismantled bone by bone and will be examined thoroughly along with all the other objects unearthed in the dig so that a better picture of everyday life in Moorish Ibiza can be made. Hopefully, by the time next season comes around, visitors to the museum on the Via Romana in Ibiza will be able to see examples found here of the jewellery, ceramics, and artefacts imported from other Mediterranean countries
