On the night of 12-13 August, look out for the Perseid meteor shower - known in Spain as San Lorenzo's tears - because of its proximity to the day when the Christian martyr is remembered throughout many parts of Spain.
In 2024 the Perseid meteor shower is active between 17 July and 24 August. The numbers of meteors will increase every night until the peak on the night of 12 August, after which it will tail off.
