On the night of 12-13 August, look out for the Perseid meteor shower - known in Spain as San Lorenzo's tears - because of its proximity to the day when the Christian martyr is remembered throughout many parts of Spain.
In 2026, the Perseid meteor shower will reach its peak on the night of 12-13 August, between 4 am and 6 am local peninsular time. However, activity is expected to be particularly strong from 23:00 on the 12th until 11:00 on the 13th.
