The village of Jesús, near Ibiza Town, celebrates its annual fiesta in honour of its patron saint with a wide programme of activities from 28 August to 27 September.
The big day is 8 September, when there will be a traditional mass, a procession, traditional dances, an exhibition of old motorbikes, a parade of carts, children's games, and a concert by the Municipal Band of Music. But even in the weeks leading up to this day, Jesús is celebrating with lots of fun and activities.
Among the highlights for this year:
- Friday, 4 September
18:00 to 01:00 - Ritmo Ibiza. Youth party to celebrate the end of summer, with Reggaeton and Latin Techno. At Jesús Square - Saturday, 5 September
18:00 - Cala d’Espart Walk. Excursion from Jesús Church to Cala d’Espart and s'Estanyol Beach. 9 km, approximately 3 hours. Medium difficulty. Suitable for adults and young people aged 12 and over. Registration at turisme@santaeularia.com.
21:00 - Music with DJ Aaron.
22:00 - Arroz de matanzas (traditional pork and rice dish). - Sunday, 6 September
20:30 - Performance by the Mallorcan group SULL.
22:00 - Joint performance by the rock band Ethernal Echoes and the Santa Eulària des Riu Municipal Band. - Tuesday , 8 September – Feast Day of Nuestra Señora de Jesús
11:00 - Exhibition of vintage motorbikes.
11:30 - Solemn Mass presided over by the Bishop of Ibiza, followed by the procession of the Virgin and traditional dancing.
13:30 - Parade of vintage carts and motorbikes.
20:00 - Mass of the Offering of Fruits. The fruit will be donated to the Reina Sofía Residence.
20:30 - Concert 'Between Film Scores and Pasodobles', performed by the Santa Eulària Municipal Band.
21:30 - Concert 'Que te quiten lo bailao'. Great Pop and Rumba hits performed in a flamenco and rumba style.
22:30 - Concert by 'Hombre 80', featuring Pop-Rock covers from the 80s. - Sunday, 27 September
10:00 - Children’s Gymkhana at Can Lluís de sa Rota
