Every year, we celebrate the 'Día de las Islas Baleares' on 1 March. The Consell de Ibiza presents a great variety of events for this years' celebrations, with lots of activities from 26 February to 5 March.
- Tuesday 1 March
The main events will be held on Tuesday 1 March. From 11:00 you can go to the Hippodrome of San Rafael to enjoy the parade of traditional carts, the speech of the president of the Consell de Ibiza and watch the traditional dances from the different traditional dance associations of the island, followed by a tasting of local products. Later on, there will be a show of Doma Menorquina (the traditional style of riding of the island of Menorca), a Trote Trophy, a petanque tournament, children's activities, traditional games, creative workshops and bouncy castles.
On the same day at 09:00 h there will be a 3x3 basket tournament in Blanca Dona and from 09:30 h, Sa Pedrera Sports Center will host the Base Motorcycling Day.
- Sunday 26 February - Chess tournament (09:30 h) and horse riding (10:00 h) at the Hippodrome. In the afternoon, a dog agility contest will also be held there.
- Tuesday 28 February at 20:00 h - The Can Jeroni Cultural Centre will host the V Festival of Short Films, screening short films.
- Saturday 4 March - The Auditorium of Cas Serres will welcome the gathering "Illes per la cançó", where lyricists and singers from the Balearic Islands will offer a demonstration of traditional songs.
- Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 March
The Bulevard Abel Matutes in Ibiza town welcomes the Artisan Market of the Balearic Islands, with samples of the crafts from all the islands: tools, tasks, materials, clothing, shoes, instruments and more. Throughout the day, children will be able to enjoy children's workshops, painting, clay and handicrafts.
This weekend, Santa Gertrudis welcomes the Balearic Motocross Championship (Base and Absolut categories).
