Explore Ibiza's fantastic flea market in Sant Jordi

Vintage finds, local produce, island treasures and a fun vibe.

The Sant Jordi car boot sale takes place every Saturday from 08:00 to 15:00, all year round, making it one of the island's more reliable shopping stops outside the main tourist season. Located at the southern end of the village of Sant Jordi, close to the airport, the hippodrome provides a suitably spacious setting for the hundreds of stalls that fill the race track.

Rummage for treasures

This is very much a market for those who enjoy the hunt. Stalls offer an eclectic mix of new and second-hand clothing, jewellery, antiques, books, records, furniture, musical instruments and decorative objects, alongside all manner of miscellaneous finds. Local residents can also sell their own unwanted possessions, meaning the selection changes from week to week.

That unpredictability is part of the appeal. Rather than a market where every stall carries carefully curated products, Sant Jordi rewards a leisurely browse and a willingness to rummage. Vintage clothing, old vinyl, furniture and curiosities can all turn up alongside more everyday new and second-hand goods.

The market also attracts a notably mixed crowd. Long-term island residents, collectors, artists and visitors all mingle among the stalls, giving it a distinctly local and informal atmosphere.

Don't miss the midday music

One of the best reasons to linger is the live music around midday. When the market reaches its busiest point, musicians regularly gather on the terrace near the café for live performances, while percussion sessions have become a particularly popular feature.

It's an unexpected soundtrack to a Saturday morning of bargain hunting: by lunchtime, the atmosphere around the café and grandstand can become as much about music and socialising as shopping.

The exact musical line-up varies, so anyone visiting specifically for the live music should check the current programme before travelling.
