5 WTF! moments from Ibiza 2026 so far

Each year, Ibiza produces some jaw-dropping scenes that nobody can predict, no matter how much they might claim to have their finger on the pulse. Just when you think you've seen it all, you're proved wrong in the best way. We live for these moments.

At the halfway marker of summer 2026, we've already caught ourselves saying "WTF!" numerous times.

Some of them we had to pinch ourselves. You really had to be there to believe it. Luckily, we were! Here are some of the highlights so far.

Josh Baker, Joseph Capriati, Enzo Siragusa and more play Es Paradis

The club's biggest line-up in a generation was the natural roll-through from Amnesia.

We don't care what anybody says, nobody saw this coming!

Virtually as soon as Amnesia closed the doors to its marathon Opening Party, the masses reconvened for a carry-on at Es Paradis. There, they were joined by the biggest DJs from the night before. For a brief moment, we got to see the potential of the world's most beautiful club.

It was over these 24 hours that Josh Baker made a legitimate claim for entering Ibiza's elite A-league. Everything that's happened since has added further fuel. His You&Me party has sold out for six consecutive weeks since it opened. You can't buy that kind of publicity.

Andre Reyes and band are guests of honour for MESTIZA's flamenco-fuelled party

Twin flames MESTIZA have a uniquely Spanish sound and a huge following on home soil. Therefore, it was a stroke of genius to invite time-honoured outfit Gipsy Kings by Andre Reyes to share the stage at their Sunday night residency.

You only need to be sat in a bar or restaurant when Baila Me or Bamboleo come on to see how quickly locals spring to their feet and grab a dance partner.

Despite being French-born, the band members are considered Spanish heroes. Still, it was a surprise to see them perform at Hï Ibiza. Although going against the grain of "dance music" in the modern sense, that's exactly the kind of leftfield booking we live for.

Listen, you may think that Ibiza's clubland is a sacred place where 4/4 beats are a protected species and anything which deviates musically should be classed as an invasive threat, but we're sorry to tell you: you are wrong.

If Ibiza had that blinkered, closed-minded attitude in the '80s, do you think that House music would have taken root and flourished here?!

Ibiza's strength has always been its diversity. So when Pacha welcomed bona fide Rap god, 50 Cent, you can bet the Ibiza Spotlight team were front-and-centre. Regardless of genre, music legends are music legends, wherever they are in the world - including dance music capital, Ibiza.

Grace Jones rolls back the years at Glitterbox

The fashion icon is still "Nightclubbing" at 78 years young!

Grace Jones doesn't need to explain her history with Ibiza to anybody. Either you know, or you don't, although anyone in the latter camp could do with brushing up on their knowledge. Given she's fast approaching her eighties, we excuse her for not being seen on the dancefloor quite as often as she once was. But don't get it twisted, this diva can still move with the best of them!

Could there be a better fit than Glitterbox and Grace Jones? If there is, we're ignorant of it.

It was raining down confetti in the club and in our hearts.

Two worlds collide: Carl Cox & David Guetta go back-to-back

Who says mainstream and underground dance music can't coexist?

If 50 Cent upset you, chances are this one will too.

David Guetta has his critics in underground circles. Those of us old enough to remember afternoons on the old Space Terrace know Guetta possesses all the tools to surprise his biggest objectors. Even Laurent Garnier knows how good Guetta can be when the gloves are off and he doesn't feel obligated to entertain his young fan base. So, too, does Carl Cox.

Last weekend, [UNVRS] witnessed the mainstream and underground poles of dance music collide - and it was glorious! David Guetta's fans got exposed to music they'd probably never heard before. And host Coxy got to have a little fun. Everyone's a winner.

Encore? It seems unlikely that any of the above will be repeated. At least in the next three months. But who knows? Not us.
