This May, Mama Ibiza lands on the island to take over Eden on two key early-season dates and light the match for summer. Led by DJ/producer Chewna and presented by Product Of Us's Of Us Records, Mama runs across consecutive weeks, Tuesday 5 May and Tuesday 12 May.
The concept is built around high-impact club music, whether that be straight-up House, Tech or Progressive. No matter the classification, the emphasis is on music for peak-time dancefloors. This policy is reflected in the calibre of headliners booked for both dates.
The first night brings together Low Steppa (pictured above) - no stranger to the club, thanks to his long association with past incumbent Defected, Majestic, Steve Richards and Lucia Cors, alongside organisers P.O.U and Chewna.
The Brummie DJ’s back-catalogue and many years of dedication to the scene add authority to the opening night, boosted by island favourite Majestic’s crossover appeal.
On the second date, Josh Butler's deeper, heads-down selections give the night a different, but no less pertinent, feel. Unsung hero Sam Supplier lends heavyweight credibility on support, whilst Nathassia is the new guest amongst the resident team.
At the centre of both instalments are Chewna and P.O.U, whose careers have been on an upward trajectory this past year.
Recent appearances at London's Ministry Of Sound and a growing run of international bookings have been complemented by strong radio backing from leading tastemakers.
The wider line-ups add weight, striking the balance that reflects where UK-led club music is heading right now, without overdiluting the story.
Who's ya mama? Get down to Eden on either 5 or 12 May and check it out for yourself. Tickets to both dates are on sale now and can be bought below. Alternatively, head to our party calendar.
