Back in 2019, we had the pleasure of offering Jo an intern placement, giving her first experience of working in the music industry. Since then, she has gone on to work for a music publicist, feature on podcasts and present on regional radio, but she always kept Ibiza close to her heart.
Six years later, we're delighted to welcome her back to the island and back to the club team.
This time around, it’s a flying visit for Jo. With just 96 hours on Ibiza, she takes on her own Ibiza weekender. Question is, just how many clubland misadventures can she squeeze into four days?
This is the story of What Jo did next...
96 hours on Ibiza
10 to 13 July
Thursday
It may only have been three weeks since my last island touchdown, but I'm ready and raring to go raving. First up, it's time to fuel up, and local restaurant Can Soni hits the spot.
After an hour of trying to flag a taxi (yep, it’s peak season baby!) Lissy and I finally make our way to Destino Five Ibiza to get in amongst the Music On Daytime madness. And mad it is, mad busy!
Marco Carola’s clubbing crew are out in force, and no wonder, the line-up is sick! Rossi., Franky Rizardo, THEMBA and the main man himself.

The team kindly give us booth access for the best views in the house as well a pair of Pacha’s new cherry emblazoned Hears earplugs. Always remember to look after your lugs kids!
After a serious schooling in tenacious Tech House from Carola and Rizardo back-to-back in the open-air booth, the party then moves down into intimate club room Tox. We pop our heads in to say hey, but as the story always goes, we’re club hopping tonight.
Next up is Pikes, where Chloé Calliet is back to presenting her label party series Smiile.

We take full liberty of Pikes’ new stone-baked pizza slice stall, and clubbing editor Steve soon joins.
He's not the only star we spot, oh no. Love Island hostess Maya Jama and an off-duty Dom Dolla casually stroll by and are ushered away, presumably, to the room which shall not be named (The M*rr*k*ch Suite).
My reputation as Sleeping Beauty is proceeding. I have now been awake for almost 24 hours and am well-wined, so we call it a night. Tomorrow is a big one after all…
Friday
The girls and I have been given our dream assignment: a day spent browsing Ibiza’s best fashion boutiques, followed by dinner and drinks. All in the name of content, of course.
Cue Sugababes “here come the girls.”
Histercomplementos is first on our list, where we go all-out trying on glam gowns fit for prom queens. We each have a €50 budget and Lissy is first to make a purchase.

Onto Peach, where the girls kindly have a bottle fizz waiting for us. Founder Kim is a wonderful help in talking us through her designs and styles Hayley in the glitziest beaded dress and silver shades. She looks like a popstar!
At handmade jewellery store Onirik, I’m in my element. I spy a pair of dainty earrings, and the designer told me the stones were found here on one of Ibiza’s beaches. How nice to always have a little piece of my favourite island with me wherever I am in the world!
Beatrice San Francisco is the final stop, and I’m immediately drawn to a boho-style suede co-ord and leather bag, which goes perfectly with my cowgirl boots.

Having well and truly shopped until we’ve dropped, we close out the day at The Standard Ibiza's rooftop restaurant, which is celebrating a collaboration with British fashion house Burberry.
The panoramic views of Ibiza Old Town are truly stunning and enjoyed even more with a well-earned cocktail in hand. The spicy pineapple, lime and basil-infused cocktail was divine. As was the homemade guacamole and rustic tortillas, and Angus steak with tangy barbeque dip we soon devoured.
Saturday
Today is one of my favourite parties in the entire summer calendar. It’s highly exclusive, and you never quite know when or where it will end.
It’s the birthday celebrations of our fiercely fabulous editor and friend Hayley!

This year, we’re spending the day soaking up rays at poolside paradise The Palm Star. We sip on sumptuous strawberry daiquiris, reclining on four-poster sunbeds whilst the DJ spins classic Deep House records all afternoon. This really is the life.
The last ones standing wander down to another of our favourite local spots, Freedom Bar on Reggae Reggae beach, where we put the world to rights until the sun goes down.
Sunday
I’ve got 24 hours left on Ibiza and I plan to make them count.
As is our ritual, Steve and I head to Que Pasa? for a pre-drink before jumping a cab with Holly and Hayley to open-air oasis 528 Ibiza where Barcelona party crew Brunch Electronik is hosting.
Monolink's live set is a hypnotic trip of swirling Electronica and ambient Techno which perfectly soundtracks sundown.
However, in my opinion, Maceo Plex’s after-dark set steals the show. His Garage edit of All Night goes off within the first few minutes, and OZBEK’s Like This is a slick new cut I can’t wait to play on repeat.

A quick fit change and it’s onto Glitterbox at Hï Ibiza. Father-daughter duo Floorplan are dropping non-stop classic dance anthems in the Club Room before handing over to Moodyman.
Next door in The Theatre, all eyes are on KAYTRANDA, who is making his Ibiza debut with his signature blend of Lo-Fi Hip-Hop beats and sultry House music.
Brand new single The Mood gets a spin, and KAYTRANADA invites collaborators FLO to the DJ booth to make the moment, but they aren’t his only special guest of the night...

Just when you think Glitterbox can't get any sassier, pop diva Lizzo makes a surprise PA. I don't think anyone saw this one coming.
The hours left until my flight back to Edinburgh are now dwindling into single figures, so it’s time to catch the few Zzz’s I can. 96 hours on Ibiza, done and dusted.
Reckon you can top Jo's Ibiza weekender?
