Any artist from any discipline will tell you the same thing: remaining stationary can be a deadly game. No matter the field of interest, a creative's desire to test their limitations and try something fresh and exciting is a recurring trope of artistic pursuit.
This mentality has long been a characteristic of Joseph Capriati.
Over the winter, he made the decision to head for pastures new. A change of scenery and a new challenge are calling.
After being associated with Amnesia for many years, and holding his own residency there for the last three, Joseph is on the move. It's not lost on us that the name of his party is Metamorfosi.
As Metamorfosi transfers to Hï Ibiza, Joseph Capriati speaks out about his motivations behind the switch.
Sitting down with Liv in the wake of the news that nobody saw coming, Capriati discusses his personal transformation, the importance of a positive mindset and balanced lifestyle, and what people can expect from Metamorfosi at Hï Ibiza.

Joseph Capriati speaks out as Metamorfosi emerges at Hï Ibiza
Hi Joseph. The Metamorfosi party series has grown exponentially. You started out with just three parties in 2022, grew to five in 2023 and increased again to eight last summer. Now, you're jumping up to 14 parties in 2025. That's a very big and steady growth.
How are you feeling about the season ahead and moving to a new club?
“I believe I'm in the most exciting period of my career and life. It's incredible how things reflect on what I do, because I love DJing.
I’ve DJed since I was 11. It's all my life. But when you have a great lifestyle, when you get in a very positive mindset and work hard on yourself, this reflects a lot of what you do. And the hard work is paying. It's paying back, which honestly, I am really grateful for.
This is a big opportunity for me. Not only for me, but for my team as well.
I think this residency here is something that is going to promise a lot in terms of what we can do. We really believe in making people happy. As an artist, I always look for metamorphosis. And this is why the party is about metamorphosis."

"It's a metamorphosis of myself as a human first, and then as a DJ and as a producer. It all reflects everything I do on stage.
Metamorfosi started with only three parties. Now we do 14. It's our first real proper residency and we are getting ready. We know that working here at Hï Ibiza is a new chapter, because the way you work here, it's on a next level.
I just care about music, organising records, producing and playing music. The rest, we are programming a lot of incredible things in terms of production. The sound system and everything has to be on point, so that people come and have a great experience. But me as a DJ, I just want to focus on the music.
Hï Ibiza is an incredible stage. You've got so many opportunities. The residency will transform onto a different stage with a whole new playground to explore."

The last time you played here at Hï Ibiza was in 2019. How do you feel the club itself has changed during that time?
"I still remember that party in 2019. I played all night long. It was 100% JC. That was my All Night Long Paris. I was doing this all over the world. Then I decided to stop. But I still remember the vibrations of this room. It was just electric.
It's a room you feel comfortable with. You can do literally anything with the music. The room is united and you feel the energy all the way from the dancefloor to the backstage to the private tables. It feels like you are in the middle of everyone and it's really special.
I just cannot wait to begin this new residency because it's also pushing my limits. My boundaries. It's going to feel like I can even test the new Joseph, the new person and artist that I'm becoming. It's exciting.
It's like having new chapters like this in life, in the career.
I'm 37. I have a lot of energy. I feel like I'm in my best moment and I feel ready to give myself all to this project.
I'm very honoured to have this opportunity to be here in this club and for the great effort and support that I'm receiving from The Night League and all the Hï Ibiza family. It's going to be something. Very, very exciting."

Preparing for such a huge residency is both challenging and exciting.
We assume it takes up a lot of your brain power, whilst you continue touring and have numerous projects on the go. How do you manage to keep focused and grounded and keep the balance and the energy with so many balls in the air?
"The most important of all is good maintenance. Mind work, body work and spiritual work – each one is important.
This is a new chapter in my life which I started about two years ago. After a two year journey, now I really feel like I'm finally prepared for the summer ahead.
I know how to balance myself well. I have professionals working on this together with me: my psychotherapist, my coach, my trainer, eating well, resting well. It's really important. It wasn’t always the case."

"I love what I do. Over the last, near 20 years, my career has taken me all over the world. During that time, I've pushed myself in many ways, traveling a lot. Like a globetrotter.
I loved it, but of course then you reach a point where you want to become more productive, you want to spend more time in the studio and make more music and you want to evolve as a better DJ, grow as an artist and now as a promoter too.
This is what I call the Metamorfosi. To be able to do that, you need to be good to yourself.
This is something that is much more possible nowadays than in the past. Right now, the scene is in a very positive era. The new generation of DJs are much more focused than when my generation started touring.
I feel inspired from what is happening all over the world. Maybe you like the scene’s current music or maybe you don’t? But I love the current attitude of the scene. It's much more focused. There are so many more possibilities."

I think the younger generations are living – and partying - a bit healthier than past generations...
"I totally agree. It's interesting to see. There is much more research, information and understanding available - many more ways of keeping well. There are also less barriers when it comes to discussing mental health.
Before, mental health in our scene was not spoken about very much. Nowadays it's very clear that people need to maintain their mind as much as their body. It’s much easier to talk about now and it’s so important.
It wasn’t so long ago that people coped with stress in different way. Maybe self-medicating by drinking alcohol or something? But nowadays it's very easy to stay focused. It's all about maintenance. And I love that."
Yeah, me too. So for people who will be coming here to see you at Hï Ibiza, what can they expect? Do you have a few words that you can give us for this next era of Metamorfosi?
"Like always, they can expect the best of me. I always give all of myself and my possibilities. But overall, expect something totally new.
I mean, musically, we are going to put all our effort on the music selection, on the DJs, on the line-up. Because music comes first for us. And then expect to step into a new dimension when you walk into the club.
In terms of experience, in terms of sound system, of production, of… everything. Just be ready for getting the best of everything. We're going to put all our effort into it.
It's a new journey, a new beginning, and there is a lot to do. In a very humble way, we totally believe we are more than ready. So let's see what is going to happen."

Finally, if you could sum up how you’ll be approaching the season ahead, what would you say?
"With positivity. I’m approaching everything in this positive mindset.
I want to look people in the eyes, in the crowd. I want to focus more than ever on the music and on the connection with the dancefloor, with the people who are going to come to experience their holiday, or maybe the locals who want to come on their Friday night off work.
This is something that feels positive.
Positivity is the word for summer 2025."
