Ibiza hotels prepping for spring opening in 2023

Early start heralds Ibiza's most extended holiday season

After a successful season for hoteliers in 2022, Ibiza is kicking off 2023 with what feels like the warmest and sunniest winter in living memory! Now, the ever-popular island is gearing up for what promises to be its longest-ever season.

Spring is the time of amazingly colourful displays of natural beauty, whilst the island looks its finest. There is plenty of wildlife to see and many outdoor sporting events take place in the open air, including the daddy of them all – the Ibiza Marathon.

More and more hotels are bringing the season forward by opening their doors earlier than normal this year.  Many will be ready to welcome the hoards of tourists wishing to make the most of the early-season colour by the time the clocks go forward on March 26, and well before the locals celebrate Christ’s resurrection on Sunday, April 9.

So, if you’re thinking of coming over early, these are our suggestions for the best places to stay on Ibiza this Spring.

Boutique and rural hotels

Ibiza’s uniquely charming boutique and rural hotels are usually the first to open their doors and spring is the perfect time to enjoy their cosy hospitality.

Mikasa, Marina Botafoc Ibiza

Opening 17 March

Mikasa, the vegan-friendly boutique hotel with great views overlooking the marina towards Dalt Vila, is offering a 25% discount on room bookings via its website in March and April. You might bump into the Ibiza Spotlight crew brunching on their wonderful terrace.

Can Pujolet, Santa Agnès

Opening 24 March

Experience the absolute springtime tranquillity of rural Ibiza at the gorgeous rural hotel Can Pujolet. While the sun shines you have the tough choice between peaceful forest walks or cycling among the flower-filled fields of the village of Santa Agnès. Sigh...

Petunia Hotel Ibiza, Cala Carbó

Opening 9 April

Enjoy the south-facing view across the countryside towards the Es Vedra islet at Petunia Hotel Ibiza. The iconic rock dominates from every angle at this delightful rustic hotel.

Las Mariposas, Ibiza

Opening 5 April

One of Ibiza’s original agrotourism hotels, not far from the outskirts of the city, Las Mariposas (the butterflies!) gives you the best of both worlds. An idyllic rural setting yet only a few minutes drive from the lively town centre.

The big guns

Torre del Mar Hotel, Playa d'en Bossa

Opening 29 March

Ready for conference season to kick off, Torre del Mar Hotel will be a hive of activity in March and over the Easter holidays. Walk out of the hotel and you have 3km of golden sand to stroll along with the sun on your face every morning.

Six Senses Ibiza, Portinatx

Opening 30 March

The jewel of the north, Six Senses Ibiza close to Portinatx, reopens its massive doors after a brief winter refresh. The deluxe resort will resume the season where it left off at the end of 2022 – setting new standards for hospitality on the island.

Nobu Ibiza Bay, Talamanca

Opening 31 March

Spotlight's favourite gastro-destination, Nobu Ibiza Bay, opens earlier than ever this year and expectations are high after a phenomenally successful 2022. We always look forward to attending the official opening event and to more great alfresco wellness sessions on that stunning rooftop.

El Puerto Ibiza Hotel Spa, Ibiza Town

Opening 3 March

City centre convenience returns early this year when the recently refurbished El Puerto Ibiza Hotel Spa reopens its doors to travellers looking for some city life, right in the thick of the action.

Camelina Suites and Can Salia, San Antonio Bay

Intercorp Hospitality Group has announced that their two family-favourite hotels at the end of San Antonio Bay will be raring to go in March and you can enjoy a 10% discount on bookings made before 31 Jan at both.

Camelina Suites in Port des Torrent gets going first on 16 March followed two weeks later by the luxurious Can Salia San Antonio Bay on 30 March.

Sol Beach House, Santa Eulalia

Opening 5 April

Over in Santa Eulalia, adult-only Sol Beach House gets up and running in time for the Easter influx. 3 pools, a fitness centre and carefully curated menus make this a popular destination for the hotel’s health-conscious fans.

Hotel Riomar, Santa Eulalia

Opening 6 April

While at the opposite end of the resort, Hotel Riomar sets out its stall for another great season celebrating bohemian chic on the sand of Santa Eulalia Bay. There are great offers to be had by booking early and may even include a road trip by car to explore the island.

Open all year

If you’re coming to the island any time soon, here is a selection of the great hotels which remain open year-round.

Pacha’s elegantly modernised urban El Hotel in Marina Botafoc reopened after a major refit in 2022 and has stayed open all year round. The Pacha DNA is illuminated through each refined room in the swish four-star rated property.

The newly revamped glamping site El Parco by Camping Ibiza in San Antonio is always open for you to pitch up and enjoy the informal vibes. The accommodation will be suitable for the hardier traveller but the price will keep you warm.

San Antonio also has a decent selection of hotels near the town centre that stay open in winter and spring. One of our favourites is Hotel Florencio, a family-run establishment that is constantly being updated. Likewise, the Marino hotel and the newly opened M Hotel offer convenient access to the town’s amenities during the winter.

Marsol Apartments in Santa Eulalia offers modern beachfront apartments close to the river at the end of Santa Eulalia Bay. Each apartment has a fully-equipped kitchen, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom, giving you perfect autonomy to explore the island during winter.
