Seven house DJs to see this week

Craving some house music lately? We've compiled a list of the hottest parties for you to hit this week.

We are now in the middle of peak Ibiza season which means that there are more people to meet and more parties to attend to than you can keep track of. With all the commotion going it's easy to get lost in the noise, making it difficult to know what party you should go to.

Fret not friends. We are here to help make this process much easier for you. Last week we told you about the un-missable open-air parties you need to attend this month. This time around we have something for the house heads of the island, giving you the list of house DJs to see this week.

Tuesday 8 August / Anané & Louie Vega / Heart Factory | The Ritual at Heart Ibiza

You can kick your house filled week off at Heart Ibiza where Grammy Award winner Louie Vega goes back to back with his wife Anané at their weekly residency, The Ritual. As a pioneering underground movement, the husband/wife duo makes sure to bring only the most authentic of underground music to The Ritual.

The power couple approaches DJing together the same way they approach their relationship: by feeding off each other and expressing themselves individually, all while having fun doing so. Depending on where they start and how they feel, their sets can go off in any direction, but they are often suave and smooth, easy on the ears of listeners. This doesn't mean they won't bring the energy up when they need to as they'll play some heavy house hitters when they see fit.

This week they'll have Joseph Capriati, a man who needs no introduction, on the decks to open so you know you'll get your house fix.

Tuesday 8 August / Todd Terry / Arthur Baker / InHouse Ibiza at Es Paradis

Heart Ibiza isn't the only club with a hot house party on Tuesday night as Es Paradis looks to compete with legend Todd Terry. The New York native is looking to put on a proper house clinic at the pyramid in San Antonio under his own InHouse label. Joining Terry are a number of other affiliated DJs but the one that stands out is Boston born Arthur Baker.

The man has been DJing since the early 70s and has been imperative in the maturation of hip-hop and house music in the last two decades. This is the only show Baker is playing on Ibiza this summer, making it all the more worth going to. While Terry is playing a few more times this summer, mainly at Glitterbox and once more at Pacha, this is the one night where he'll be both headlining and curating the line-up. You're in his house now.

Wednesday 9 August / Mr. G / Paradise at DC-10

While Paradise is generally recognized for its emphasis on tech-house heavy line-ups this Wednesday they have a special guest in UK bred Mr. G. A seasoned vet who's been around for two decades now, Mr. G is coming to Ibiza only for this one night this summer making this party an automatic priority for house heads alike. His sets are performed live so you know it's going to get in a proper groove. Need proof? Just check out his Boiler Room set from London above.

Thursday 10 August / Roger Sanchez / UNDR THE RADR Showcase at Float Your Boat / Cream at Amnesia

On Thursday house lovers should look to spend their day at sea with none other than the S-man himself, Roger Sanchez. Teaming up with Float Your Boat for a special showcase of his label UNDR THE RADR, Sanchez is looking to take you on groovy sunset cruise into the night.

This boat party is serving as the official Cream pre-party, which Sanchez will be playing in later that night at Amnesia. If you're a real house fan you'll make sure to make both sets this Thursday.

Friday 11 August / David Morales / Glitterbox at Hï Ibiza

Glitterbox is known for its unapologetically sassy attitude, loaded up on house and disco gems to power the night. Leading the flamboyant fiasco this Friday is internationally acclaimed DJ David Morales. The New Yorker is a Grammy Award winner and has produced tracks for some of the world's most prolific superstars including Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin and many more.

Making songs for high profile artists isn't all Morales is known for, though. In 1998 he blessed us with his own Needin' U which became a certified banger in the UK. Also on the lineup is Dimitri From Paris, DJ Spen, Karizma, Dr. Packer and Mr. Doris.

Friday 11 August / Hot Since 82 / Green Velvet / Labyrinth at Pacha Ibiza

We're taking a step away from that classic house sound for a second to go for something a bit more modern in Hot Since 82. The British DJ is well-recognized for taking the crowd knee deep into sound, staying well inside the pocket for bass heavy grooves.

Playing on the same bill is Chicago native Green Velvet who's making his first of two forays into Ibiza this season this Friday at Labyrinth. Green Velvet has been around since '91 when he started his career in Chicago where the house music scene was flourishing. Since then, the former chemical engineering student has built an astounding career releasing bona fide hits like Brighter Days and Answering Machine. With two house heavyweights on the line-up, hitting Pacha on Friday is a must.

Bonus* Wednesday 9 August / TBA / Space in the Park at Benimussa Park

For the last house DJ on our list we have don't have a DJ but rather a party held by the folks over at Game Over. This Thursday marks the 28th anniversary of Ibiza's iconic Space Ibiza, which closed down a year ago. To celebrate this event, Game Over is holding a special edition of Space in the Park so everyone can enjoy some nostalgia.

No one knows who is on the line-up as it isn't announced until the day of, but you can guarantee that whoever is playing will be throwing down, and throwing down some mean house tunes as well. Space in the Park is only coming around twice this year so you definitely want to be there for this one.
