Art Supermarket makes art accessible to all

Affordable, local, Ibizan art in time for Christmas

Looking for that extra special Christmas present or want to start your own art collection? The Supermercat de l'Art, or Art Supermarket is offering original works of well-known Ibizan artists in all kinds of formats with prices that are easy to access.

The third edition is now open and is being displayed at the Garden Art Gallery on the road to San José and features the work of 18 different local painters and sculptors offering both figurative and abstract art froms and using a range of materials including oil and acrylic paints and mediums like wood or metal.

The Supermercat de l'Art will be running until the end of January 2017 and is available to view and purchase from Monday to Saturday from 9 h to 20 h and from 9 h to 13 h on Sundays. The annual event is always organised around Christmas and is inspired by the original Parisian art supermarket event from 1973.

The organisers are keeping the reasonable pricing so that the works remain affordable as this is the foundation of the event. As well as the original sized works, you can also grab the works in small formats to use as greetings cards or to add to your art postcard collection.

Local artists include the painters Julia Fragua, Diana Bustamante, Júlia Ribas, Carles Guasch, Antonia Torres Tur and Charlotte Mensforth plus the sculptors Gerhard Höhn and Marco Zurita.

All you need do now is head down to the Supermercat de l'Art to snag yourself an original Ibizan art work. Don't forget to tell your friends.
