Art auction at Atzaró this Thursday August 28th

Art lovers and animal lovers unite to raise cash for local animal welfare charities in a one-off art auction in Ibiza this week.

Some of Ibiza's most talented and best loved fine artists along with some new faces come together in support of a 3 day show and charity auction at the magical Atzaro, in aid of the Eivissa Animal Center.

The Eivissa Animal Center will treat the animals of Ibiza and house Care 4 Cats Ibiza; a UK registered charity committed to neutering and caring for Ibiza's abandoned, stray and feral cats. Despite having neutered over 13,500 cats in 11 years, this year's reported increase of abandoned kittens on the island demonstrates there is still much work to do.

There will be an impressive array of artworks for sale representing different media, from freestanding large sculpture and print media to a limited edition print of Chapter's Balearic cat face, designed by Scott Gray for this year's Care 4 Cats Ibiza t-shirts.

Legendary Ibiza artist Sergio Ferrero has one of his Manumission ‘Strappi' pieces up for auction too, a genuine piece of Ibiza history. Not to mention work from popular Ibizan and international artists such as Marcos Torres, Andres Moreno and many more.

Most of the artworks will be on show at the Atzaro arts pagoda from Tuesday, August 26th, whilst the main event will take place in the stunning surroundings of Atzaro on the 28th, with live music and art preview from 8pm and the cool Balearic sounds of Ibiza DJ Iain Donnachie.

What a great excuse (as if we needed one) to head down to gorgeous Atzaró this Thursday, check out the local art scene and support animal welfare on the island. After this iconic Ibiza venue's recent, fantastically successful Urban in Ibiza live art, music and fashion event earlier this month, we tip our hats to Atzaró for hosting some excellent cultural events this season. Ibiza's thriving art scene looks set to continue going from strength to strength. All are welcome and it's a wonderful evening out for the whole family. Highly recommended.
