You really know summer's on the way when one of Ibiza's best loved institutions

You really know summer's on the way when one of Ibiza's best loved institutions, the Punta Arabí Hippy Market at Es Cana opens. The hippies have come out of hibernation, dusted down their kaftans, buffed up their bongos, and manned their stalls selling all kinds of freaky things.

The grand opening of the market takes place today and as a special treat the drums will fall silent while Ibiza troubadour Paco Fernandez plays his own brand of Jazzy Flamenco Chill Out.

The market has opened every Wednesday of every summer since 1973 and will continue to do so this year for the sale of baubles, bangles, beads and much more.

For more lentil juggling and weird bearding another famous hippy hideaway, Las Dalias in San Carlos, has its special Easter market on Thursday through to Sunday.

Across the island in the Vara de Rey in Ibiza town the 24th Artisan's Fair opens today until the 15th April. The stalls are open from 11am to 2pm and 5pm to 10pm where browsers will be able to find some handmade arts and crafts bargains.
