The Spanish are most famously well known for their organisational abilities

The Spanish are most famously well known for their organisational abilities, or rather their total lack of them. Our local authorities are no exception, and all are blessed with the ability to drag a defeat from the jaws of victory just when they're in the red zone and a last minute touch-down appears imminent.

Take Ibiza's port as an example, two years after the new dyke opened (massively overbudget and unincredibly late) there is still no way for passengers disembarking from luxury cruise liners to get to Ibiza town to spend their luxury cash! However, hope springs eternal, as the authorities are 'talking about' laying on a bus service.

Meanwhile on the other side of the port, the island's taxi drivers have announced that they won't be venturing to the ferry terminal to pick up passengers as the traffic chaos in the area takes up too much of their valuable time. Lucky ferry passengers will however only have to struggle a mere 500 metres with their luggage in searing daytime temperatures to find the nearest taxi rank!

Come on Ibiza authorities - get your act together - tourists pay your wages!
