Ibiza Spotlight job vacancies for summer 2023

Could YOU be our ideal candidate?

Ibiza Spotlight, the island's number one website guide, is seeking native-speaking English language, part-time and full-time writers to join our team, working across both nightlife and general content this summer.

Does that sound like you or somebody you know? Are you legally allowed to work in Spain? Then your dream job might only be an email and an interview away...

The ideal applicant

Successful applicants should be self-motivated and passionate about electronic music, clubbing and Ibiza in general.

Office hours for these roles are largely remote, with two office days a week pro-rata, once training has been completed. A reliable home wifi signal and your own laptop/PC are therefore essential.

However, a lot of both roles involve being out multiple days and nights of the week, attending the various clubs and parties here on the island. They are hands-on roles with irregular hours, though you will never be expected to have an early start after a late finish!

Having your own transport would be advantageous.

These are entry-level roles, but a great introduction into the world of professional writing. Many of our past writers have gone on to become full-time Editors themselves, while others have branched out to other roles within the industry.

Some background in writing, whether that be a personal blog or previously published work, is desirable. Candidates will be expected to submit examples of existing work with their application and all should have familiarity with our website, social channels and content output.

Some understanding of Ibiza's clubbing ecosystem would be beneficial.

We dont expect you to know everything, but you should know the difference between Trance and Techno and the difference between Armin van Buuren and Armand Van Helden!

About the job

The length of contract is approximately six months, starting in mid-March and ending mid-late September.

Benefits of the job include:

  • Guestlist to most parties on the island within reason, on non-work days and nights, sometimes with +1
  • Access to interview some of the biggest DJs on the island
  • The opportunity to try your hand at a wide variety of features, from news pieces and reviews, to coverage of activities, cultural events and restaurants
  • Frequent social events with the team, including the occasional barbeque and boat day

Candidates need to be eligible to work in Spain: either holding an existing TIE (tarjeta de identidad de extranjero, or foreigner ID card) or EU passport. Sorry, we cannot accept applications from UK passport holders, unless you already have the required paperwork.

Preferably, you should already be based on the island with living arrangements in place for summer.
