This occurs beteween 23rd & 24th June, principally in San Juan but in other parts of the island too, celebrating the summer solstice, the shortest night of the year. At midnight small bonfires are lit & it is usually the young who jump over the flames, signifying a leap from the past into the future. Wine & sweet pastries are on offer for all.
