The village has long been a melting pot of different cultures and nationalities, which lends to a truly cosmopolitan and Bohemian feel about the place. That said, Santa Gertrudis still maintains its very strong Spanish roots, and the celebration of its Patron Saint on 16 November is perfect testimony to this.

As always, the festivities stretch out for over a month and will last until 1 December, but the Patron Saint's Day of Santa Gertrudis itself falls on 16 November. Starting at mid-day with Solemn Mass in the village's late eighteenth century church, there will then follow a procession and traditional Ibiza folk dancing in the church square. When evening hits, the famous band Joven Dolores will also be celebrating the Patron Saint's Day.
